Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about that... Allen has been in a terrible slump lately. Hopefully he can get it in gear today.
Also, I REALLY want to see Ibe on one wing and Markovic on the other... Enough of an attack mind to put on extra pressure, and plenty of pace to get back.

sterling out
We need him well quickly.
As for Balo and studge - I would like to see that but maybe not in a game this inportant. It's a risk. Hell - Balo can't even make the bench lately.
I expect Stevie and Cou high up with studge and Allen and Henderson playing the more defensive mids.

It does seem the more likely answer in a big match... I don't mind seeing Stevie up there, especially with someone like Studge. His creativity and passing ability will help Studge, and Coutinho hasn't been shabby of late, either.

Good article on the younger guys showing their skill in a tough, pressured environment.

You must have missed that first match against Spurs where Balo and Sturridge were paired up top and the Reds walked to a 3-0 victory.

I hope every single one of your players thinks this exact way tonight.

Haha highly unlikely. In all honesty, we were REALLY sucking at that stage of this campaign and we were lucky to have such a victory. Hell, most of us on this board were hoping for 1 point there. Enjoy the match though

A quote from Brendan Rogers from the match in August in reference to Sterling nearly having a 4th goal...
Also, seems like Studge may be returning to the starting lineup! Not sure if I stated that earlier.
quote:
On Raheem Sterling: "He was exceptional today. But I had to laugh when he almost scored the fourth. He dribbled through the Spurs defence like Ricky Villa, but his finish was more like Ricky Gervais."

I have wanted to pair Balo and Studge forever but it is my belief that it might be the only way to get what we can out of Balo's skill set. I'm not sure if this is the type of situation to experiment much like I am not in favor of bringing Can up. We're a clean sheet machine right now I wouldn't screw with it at this point. That being said if I saw Balo and Studge up top I wouldn't be mad.

So are there not many of you guys in your own thread, or are you just the only one bored out of your mind?
Either way, I think a raping is not in the forecast at Anfield for the Reds. Should be a good one, even though I have to miss most of it at work.

Bored waiting for this game at work, but also the TD Spurs fan base doesn't really come out unless the game is on or right after a win.
Hoping for a great game today

It should be a fantastic match.
So, now I am seeing Sterling has recovered from his "knock" and will be available for the match. Who the hell knows... It would be nice to have him out there for sure though.
He is a fantastic player, but I don't understand why he doesn't like passing once he slows/stops in the box. He'll draw 2 or 3 defenders to him, somebody is SCREAMING wide open, pointing to a spot, and he tries to lob it over their head at the keep. I love watching him play, and he demands attention, but he seems like a soccer version of Allen Iverson at times.

I'm at work and angling for an early release. If I can get out of here for like 2:30 I can not look at my phone and ruin it. If it's like 3:00 I'll never make it and know what the hell happened. I think we have a good result today but a guy like Kane who is on a roll like he is always scares me and I am still not 100% sold on our new found defensive dominance.

Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Ibe, Henderson, Gerrard, Moreno, Markovic, Coutinho, Sturridge

Is that official?
Don't mind the Markovic-Cou-Studge combo... Lots of creativity and striking presence there.

I hope this is confident Lazar.

Interesting - Stevie g further back. Either Ibe or markovic further up and the other on the right.
Of the two - I would prefer Ibe further up.
studge gets the start.
I'm a bit worried about Stevie tracking erikson, lamela, etc - erikson can find a hole in front of the back 3 and make us pay.

I'm not surely can tell if Ibe or markovic is playing up from that post. Last weekend they had gerrard back and Hendo on the right in the pregame XI which was not at all the case.
