Almost everyone had him primarily as a DM coming in, but was versatile enough to play many positions... He wasn't going to get a sniff there since SG was playing as a DLP... Early on he was used as a B2B/ runner type in a more advanced role... He does like to get forward..
I agree in the sense that he may be better served in a B2B role, not necessarily because of discipline, but because he is good at it... He has played significant minutes at the DM role in the Bayern youth setup, so he is capable...
SCH just doesn't want him to develop Phil Jones-itis... I get it..

I agree he does have skill going forward. I always looked at him as a box to box player.

So, I saw headlines on twitter that Raheem will not be charged, since the linesman saw it and it was considered "dealt with"
Conversely, Jonjo will be charged with violent conduct..
Whatever...

Wow, can't believe Sterling got away with that one.

I think its all matter of whether it was seen and decided upon during the match.... if so, they can't bring any retroactive charges... it's clear as day the linesman was staring right at them when it happened..
TBH, it looks like Clattenberg was looking at Shelvey, but I guess he was a little more shielded...

I could be wrong, but I think if its in their official match report, its considered seen and therefore not subject to additional penalty.
If its not, its considered "unseen" and therefore could have further penalty.
I'm assuming the linesman saw Fernandez slap the back of Sterlings head and thought it even? But if so, should have been double yellows at best?

Looks like it's our bi-annual rumor for Shaqiri again.
I would love him but I'm not certain where he would fit into the squad right now and frankly we have bigger needs.

Any reason we shouldn't expect a clean sheet today with 2+ goals over Leicester?

Precisely because its expected.
Our worst showing in the last few weeks was against Burnley...even though we won.

Happy New Year! Here's to turning the corner... Let's get the 3 points today

Happy new year!!!
Today's lineup:
Mignolet, Can, Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling
Subs: Ward, Lovren, Manquillo, Markovic, Lambert, Ojo, Borini
So no Balotelli even on the bench. That's interesting.

More interesting to me... why is Markovic not a starter?
Posted on 1/1/15 at 9:06 am to DByrd2
Probably because Moreno played well last time out, scored and is a natural LB/LWB...

Lucas is playing like shite... Giving away posession... So slooooww, too..
Can has also had a couple of mental lapses...

I'll take it... Manquillo on and Lucas and his yellow, off...

Well it looks like things are getting back to normal. I was almost used to winning matches. I almost expected Liverpool to beat the worst team in the league at Anfield. Then I remembered we are Liverpool.

fricking lucky to get a point out of it.. we didn't deserve it...

frick me
Overran in midfield. Still thought we might be able to gut one out with some solid defending. But of course we have to piss it away in 2 minutes in typical Pool fashion.
Had a real chance to keep ourselves in close distance to 4th place too.
