Exactly what Klopp is doing. Build a team that is deep, talented and all on the same page tactically. We are going to have to figure out these teams parking the bus though guys.

I keep hearing announcers talk about how Liverpool "struggled" today.

Well, any damn team in the EPL is going to "struggle" when a team with reasonably good defensive players (and Southampton and Sunderland both fit that description) decide that they have no interest in winning the game, they only have interest in preventing YOU from winning the game.

Some of you may disagree, but I think the Reds have played superbly two weeks in a row now against two of the heaviest packed-in parked buses I've ever seen. They've been patient. They've worked hard to create space and openings. And they've created chances.

Unfortunately, against Southampton, we didn't finish our chances, but the chances WERE there. Against Sunderland, we kept being patient and finally got the break-through finisher. After Origi's goal, Sunderland had no answer because at that point they had to put the bus in drive and they couldn't match us.

I thought the midfielders played superbly in helping the forwards flatten the tires on Sunderland's bus. Karius had his best game as a Red IMO.

Hated to see Cout's go down. Such an important player. One of the best in the EPL. But I was THRILLED to see Origi come in and perform so well, with the work rate and pressing that Klopp requires of his forwards.

Wonderful win and nothing bad about today except for Cout's injury. Almost everything else was a positive IMO (I'll just pass on discussing that I think Matip had his worst game as a Red. The fact that his worst game as a Red came with a clean sheet is fine by me.)

Hard to pick a MoTM, but I'll go with Origi because that goal was YUGE.

We were much sloppier today than last week. Quality of chances wasn't what it usually was and we did struggle to break them down more so than Southampton I thought, at least until we got the goal and came out.

Coutinho hasn't gotten full scans yet but the club sound confident it's not a fracture :yay:

That's true, but I felt Sunderland was packing it in and being even MORE conservative than Southamption was (if that was possible).

Yep it's a good feeling, made up a goal on City in GD too, all in all a really positive day, looks like Coutinho could have ligament damage though

Hopefully, we can get a front 3 combo out of of Studge, Firmino, Origi and Mane firing..

Lallana coming back will give us some options in MF... I honestly thought we were at our best with Hendo, Gini and Lallana...

Back 5 seems set barring injuries... Karius is starting to look more and more settled.. minus that goal kick for a corner yesterday

Also, for us much shite as our defense gets... we've only given up 3 goals from open play in the past ten matches...

Granted set pieces are scary and we're capable of some stupid errors... teams not looking to score against probably hasn't hurt that stat line either..

In my defense we hadn't scored when I posted but thought the second half we were better. I love the clean sheet but more importantly I loved seeing Origi back to his dangerous self. During the break I watched some games from late last year and Origi just jumped off the screen. If he can get his form back in PL matches he would be a huge plus for us battling through these injuries. Did he look like he slimmed down a bit or was it me?

And how fricking great was it that Klopp went ballistic standing up for his boys and Anfield responded to their marching orders? This guy holds everybody accountable and even gets results from our fans!!!

I 100% agree with this, this trio really seemed to click and give us our best chance.

I think we'll be okay with a front three of Firminio, Origi, Mane will be okay until Cou returns for us.

Agreed on the back 5, Karius has looked better and better, sure he'll still make mistakes from time to time, but seemingly far more consistent than Migs

Here's a pic showing how off-kilter Coutinho's ankle was after he and N'Dong's feet collided at the ball.

At this point, I'm just hoping he's back about the time when Sadio leaves for AFCON.

That would pretty much be the best we can hope for.

But depending upon the severity, it could be much longer.

Seeing reports that are saying six weeks until a Coutinho return.

Sounds like Leeds is fully fit minus Bridcutt and Pablo Hernandez. Could use those two.

Just saw that too, not good, but apparently no surgery, so I guess it could be worse

All things considered, thats not too bad... I was fearing much worse.

If that's what it ends up being, he'll miss..

Bournemouth - Dec 4th
West Ham - Dec 11th
Middlesbrough - Dec 14th
Everton - Dec 19th
Stoke City - Dec 27th
Man City - Dec 31st
Sunderland - Jan 2nd

Hopefully back for United on Jan 15th

I'm more worried on the back-end of that stretch with the three games close together. Having one guy down really puts the strain on the rest of the squad and another injury or two means a guy like Ojo against Sunderland, etc.

Man U sounds doable, but will he be in full form/fitness? Just hoping its quick like Can's was last year during the Europa run.

Origi came back really quick too..

That stretch is going to be tough even with a full, healthy squad... it's a fun time for a fan, but has to absolutely suck for the players..
