Keita talk is picking up steam.
I'm not sure about Ox coming. I think it's more people guessing knowing that Klopp likes him and with the latest about him not renewing his contract. I'd guess he's probably more of a backup plan for us based on how many midfielders we have now. But he'd be good for depth and his versatility playing wide, but to me he's been better more recently as a central midfielder

I think it gives you a lot of depth and quality and personally didn't see it as one of our top needs this summer... mainly because Coutinho looks to be back in the midfield, which is great!
Coutinho and Ox could also provide cover for Sane and Salah..
If we can address out defense, we'll be a pretty strong side..

I know there are a ton of crap Transfer accounts on twitter, and I follow most of them.
There is one, called TheFirmBL , that has been absolutely spot on this entire window, and reports most information well before the others.
They claim that Keita will be wrapped up this week, AS WELL AS Andy Robertson...

That's the face of a man who knows he's getting whomever he wants in the window. Salah, Keita, VVD, come on down!

With Arsenal landing Lacazette, and the already powerful attacks otherwise in the league, we MUSt shore up our back line this window. Whether that means mending fences with Sakho for Klopp, or going hard after VVD, I feel like this has become the most important consideration for this window, other players incoming be damned.

I think even if we have to go to plan B, C or D... we will get a new CB..
I don't think there is any way back for Sakho...

I just realize that Sakho and Matip would be an excellent pairing, and it pisses me off that Klopp and Sakho can't get along. With that said, I don't want Sakho ruining team trust/chemistry either. I wasn't saying that I want Sakho back, but if I were Klopp and couldn't get VVD, then I'd give a long hard look at sorting things out with Mama.
As far as Plan B/C/D, do we have any ideas who they could be? I'd love to see a marquee CB signing, but I am fine with another tower like Matip. It seemed like Matip wasn't very talked about last summer window, but really turned out to be nearly top-class for us (unless I missed the hype).

To be fair, Sakho would have some times that he'd struggle playing our high line. He's much better in a team that will sit a little deeper and he can keep organized.
But I know what you mean, I have a soft spot for Mama too

I loved Mama and he'd save us a fair amount of £ if things would have worked out, though VVD would have been an upgrade... I have just moved on in my mind from Sakho.. I just hope we get the £30mm for him...
I think the list is long with CBs that would be an upgrade over Lovren... I just want a dominant one to help us take the team to the next level and compete for titles... In my mind, Koulibaly would probably be next on the list.. Or maybe Laporte..
They'd both cost a fair amount too...

I really don't think it'll be a problem, from all the reports FSG is willing to spend and pretty big this summer

This is the summer to do it. We've got Europe, we have a buzz around the team. He's proven he can take a thin, injury afflicted group and routinely beat the big boys. If he keeps building momentum, watch out. FSG should surely recognize that this is the time to capitalize.

Its trivial but can we have the word Liverpool in the name of the thread? I dont have to search in my old age.
Is Messi worth the $340m buyout?

About 30% of the time Sakho moves about on the pitch like he's got 2 left feet.
A lot of people seem to have concocted this mythical, amazing center back in their mind and put Sakho's face on this hero for some reason. His performance with C.P. last year was definitely solid, but that's a lot easier in a Pardew or Allardyce system that fears going forward and surrounds you with help in the back for most of the match. Not so much with a pressing attack and a very high line where you are sometimes left on an island.
Sakho ain't the center back that Klopp needs to fully implement what he likes to do.
Oh, and even though FIFA was wrong 100% with Sakho's drug charge, frick Sakho for being on those "fat burners" in the first place and taking a crap on our chances for the 2015-16 Europe League title.
