I don't care for the white triangle at the neck (would prefer the black trim continue as a crew neck or even a v neck and have the green continue until it was flush against it) but grading on the New Balance / Warrior curve, that is a pretty solid Home / Away combo.

The home kit is pure class... Away is a decent callback to history, granted not the best effort, but I can live with it.

I still hope the 3rd kit is orange, but I'm biased toward that color

Lots of rumors swirling around that one of our primary targets in this transfer period is Leipzig box-to-box midfielder Naby Keita.

https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/85/england/2017/05/26/35859872/liverpool-head-chase-for-50-million-star-naby-keita?ICID=TP_TNM_ART_3

quote:

Liverpool remain in a strong position to sign RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita this summer, and are willing to smash the club’s record transfer fee in the process, but are wary of the heightened interest in the midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp believes the Guinea international is an elite player - among the best in the world in the centre of the park - and as such, an asking price in the region of £50 million would not deter the Reds.

Nor would they flinch at meeting the 22-year-old’s personal demands given his status as a priority target, which Goal first revealed.

Talks between Liverpool and Keita’s camp have been very positive, but the Merseysiders are aware several other weighty enquiries have been fielded for the dynamic, versatile star.

There is cautious optimism over convincing the No.6, who is equally adept at operating in a box-to-role role or as a playmaker, to choose Anfield as his preferred destination, with Sadio Mane’s dazzling debut season under Klopp a helpful element.

Keita shares the same agency as the Senegal international, who has thrived on the pitch for Liverpool and has been helped by the club off it.

That's a hefty fee, but I don't think its an unusual fee in the modern transfer market.

quote:

Though unlikely to leave Borussia Dortmund again, so far at least, German international attacking midfielder/half-forward Mario Götze is still an item in Liverpool transfer market wishlist. To this end, Reds manager, Jurgen Klopp, mentor of his during the first course in Bundesliga side, is ready to try replacing Philippe Coutinho, more and more likely to join Barcelona FC, with former "apple of his eye". Currently on a deal with Die Schwarzgelben until June 2020, Götze, turning 25 next June 3rd, joined them back last summer, on a 22 million euros fee, after three seasons spent playing for Bayern Munich.

Not believing this one as much because I don't see Couts as "more and more likely to join Barcelona FC" in the first place. (As always, I could be wrong.)

https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-news/2017/5/27/15703386/liverpool-target-oxlade-chamberlain-enter-arsenal-contract-talks-next-week

quote:

Lost amidst the talk of Naby Keïta and Virgil van Dijk is the prospect of signing Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The 23-year-old only has one one year left on his contract, but after the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea, attempts will be made to extend his stay in North London. Will these talks only serve to make a move to Liverpool more likely?

Another "I'll believe it when I see it" rumor, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to bring AO-C over if we don't have to pay a huge transfer fee. 20-25M? I would be OK with that. Klopp has a way of bringing out the best in players and though O-C has been off and on in his career, if Klopp could be the one who could hit that constant "on" switch, he'd be a helluva addition.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-boss-jurgen-klopp-closing-10463538

quote:

Jurgen Klopp is closing in on a £12million deal for Leicester’s Demarai Gray.

We reported back in March that the winger was growing frustrated at a lack of starts at the King Power Stadium.

And his situation put Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton on alert, as well as Tottenham.

Now Liverpool are growing increasingly confident of landing the 20-year-old and will make an offer to trigger his release clause when the transfer window opens in July.

If Gray truly has a 12M release clause? Sure, by all means do that!

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2017/05/liverpool-named-among-clubs-interested-monaco-left-back-benjamin-mendy/

quote:

Now it’s claimed, by French outlet RMC Sport, that City also want to sign Mendy but will face competition from other clubs, among them Liverpool.

It’s claimed that City are in discussions over a 45-million-Euro move for Mendy, but that Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United are prepared to match that offer.

Barcelona are also said to be interested in the impressive defender who made his national debut in March.

While Mendy would, of course, be an impressive signing for Liverpool it seems highly unlikely they would be willing to spend almost £40 million on the left-back, especially given that Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita – two players who are reported to be Jurgen Klopp‘s main priorities this summer – are expected to cost around £50 million each.

Liverpool’s main left-back interest is said to be Fulham’s 17-year-old Ryan Sessegnon, who would be available for less than half the price of Mendy.

40M would absolutely be a pricey fee for Mendy. So this is another "believe it when I see it" rumor.

Since they aren't the only one's reporting the rumor, that's on me.

My bad. (P.S. Edited.)

Championship playoff ends nil nil in regular and extra time and goes to penalties.

Score is 3-3 going to kick #5 and Liverpool loanee Danny Ward makes a HUGE save. Huddersfield kicker makes his subsequent kick and Huddersfield Town gets promoted to the Premier League, Reading returns to the Championship.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Ward continue his loan with Huddersfield next year and get a years worth of EPL experience under Klopp's friend David Wagner, the Huddersfield manager.

reports saying we will sign Dominic Solanke after his contract runs out at Chelsea this summer (tribunal)...

For now, I will assume this is us picking up a good young prospect on the cheap and not one of our summer signings for the first team..

I would be surprised if we spent about 100m total on Naby and VVD together. Mainly because I still don't think we'll spend more than about 120m or so this summer (still smashing our spending record), and the remaining 20m for three or so players will not get us very far.

Reports are that Spurs are in on Sessegnon now - no idea if we'll win out, but if this summer ends up being another summer of targets we lose out on, I'll be pretty ticked off.

CB
LB
CDM/CM
Winger
ST

5 players at least.

ETA - Joyce now reporting interest in Sessegnon is now over. Not sure if the kid turned us down or of we decided something wasn't to our liking (fee, wages, etc.) Really wish our transfer dealing were a bit more hush hush and quick - sort of like Mane last year.

Sessegnon

I agree that it sucks losing out to Spurs for a prospect (again), but to be fair, this is a London born kid who played for a London team only to have a larger London team come calling. I understand him wanting to stay home. Just have to go find someone better.

We're starting to get mentioned a lot in connections with Salah. What do y'all think of that? He's been extremely productive at Roma and is a very similar player to Mane...but he also plays the same position. How do you squeeze those two onto the pitch at the same time while still playing Bob and Phil? Salah on the left wing?

Found this online if anyone is up for a fap

Coutinho could play more as a number 8 in midfield next year if we get another true winger.

And obviously Salah's pace is great and he was very productive in Rome, but I'd still be skeptical with his asking price considering his previous failure at Chelsea. I guess I'll just have to get used to paying out the arse for everyone now with the way money's being thrown around.

Yeah, no Casillas anywhere close to Liverpool please.

Migs/Karius is fine for now. Replace Robertson with Tierney and Keane with Matip and I approve. Lol!

Is Lallana chopped liver?
>

Here you go, 5 purchases:

Lacazette (pipe dream, I know - and I think we're OK if Studge can stay healthy)
Salah (looking like a possibility)
Keita (I think we get it done)
Mendy (frick City)
Van Djik (Klopp should be able appeal to him, because Dutch sounds kind of like Deutschland)

This doesn't even address Studge, Divock, Ings, Solanke Woodburn, Klavan and Gomez.
