Don't do it. This game will be renting space in your head all of the time. You'll be thinking about creating your next tactic, trying to find the next wonderkid, etc.

Have you played any of the FM's before? As stated before it's a bit of a learning curve that some people don't like. If you "get it" then the game is the most addictive game. The AI is so good that it keeps you on your toes while also wanting to throw your Keyboard/Laptop off of a cliff.

I've had so many nights that I've said one more match and then I'll go to sleep. 5 hours later and then you have to debate if you should just stay up instead of going to bed

I Bolted from Leeds, before the brexit began. But i believe it ends up making it hard as hell to get work permit, i believe this article explains it better?

I started my next season last night, if you want to buy someone you get a work permit for them no matter their points standing.

So it's easier, to get a work permit, espcially for African/south american wonderkids who won't play for their country for forever, you just can't have a ton of fricking foreigners in your senior team.

I finished work early on Saturday and literally made an 11 hour run on my couch/coffee table w/ the LOTR collection rolling in the background

I have been playing the games since CM97/98 was put out.

It used to be called Championship Manager, later went to FM(football manager)

I hope you guys dont play the game with the badges and unis that come with the game? the kit and badge dloads are a must. Especially changing the interface, with a skin.

Nah, that question was meant for Winn. I was wondering if he had experience with the series. I've been playing since the mid 90's myself. Watching the game evolve has been pretty amazing.

I had used the default shite for like the first week.

Now i use the Vitrex skin, even though it caused a lot of crashes initially. Finally figured out why on the forums. I also have the Debski's world of hair or whatever for regens.

based purely off price alone I assumed I was getting into something more in depth. I'm about 10 minutes away from the download finishing, will report back in summer

main question, if anyone here even plays this game, is will my current players who aren't from the UK always not count against the foreign players number?

Everyone buying FM17 is making a huge mistake. I had 723 hours on FM12 and 573 hours on FM13. You don't want this on your conscience!

Nobody that ever wants to sleep, sex, or see the sun again should ever buy this series.

should I activate all the world leagues? whats the downside/upside? I just clicked on advanced options and only like 4 leagues would be active if I start a career with Dortmund

The game can have a lot of information to process, which can lead to long load times on many computers.

does it take away from the experience at all to not activate all the major leagues?

How fast is your PC? If you add too many leagues it will take a longer to sim after you click the continue button. What I usually do is run England, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, and Brazil. I run the last 2 because of the amount of prospects these 2 countries produce. I also use a large database. You can always activate more leagues but I find this a good starting point for myself and this runs quick as frick on my PC.

I haven't run any skins, but may need to check that out eventually.

I added a decent amount of leagues in Europe and South America. I remember reading up on it before starting as I didn't want to limit myself too much. I think I also had the database add anyone that plays on a continental competition (club) or national team for the other continents.

I think it too me awhile (and a transfer window) to really figure out the best tactics for my players, and who fits what and what works in the game. And also about changing tactics mid-game. The stats can be important - but the one thing I've found that means nothing is the GK match rating. My guy just keeps getting 6.8-7.2 and he's set records for clean sheets in a row, etc and makes fantastic one on one saves.
