It's a bad hire, and especially at that price(contract)

3 of the big Money clubs made coaching moves and Man utd was the worst, and it's not even close.

Conte/pep>>>>>>>>> Bus Parker

It's official

Anyone who says he play boring football or always parks the bus never watched his first go round with Chelsea or his time with Porto and Madrid.

He parks the bus when it tactically makes sense.

Also he was not the inovater of Chelsea parking the bus everyone gives them shite for. He wasn't the manager in 2012.

Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as Manchester United's new manager. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid signed his contract at a London hotel at around 5pm on Thursday to take charge at Old Trafford. Mourinho met the executive vice chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward, to conclude the talks earlier in the afternoon, symbolically wearing a black and red tie for the final stage of negotiations. The deal is completed on the 12th anniversary of Mourinho winning the Champions League with Porto; during that run, the Portuguese club knocked out Manchester United.

This is amazing. I could've sworn you and several other United fans couldn't get enough of the bus parking jokes.

The parking the bus memes are funny for sure, but to say thats all he does is just showing how little someone knows.

Ive always been a fan of his but never thought he was someone I wanted at United.

Anyone who watched his first stint at Chelsea knows what kind of attacking football

His first year at Chelsea in the league during 2004 they scored 72 goals thats as many as a SAF's United. The next year they scored 72 again.

His first year at Madrid they scored 102 league goals, in 2011/12 they scored 121 league goals.

Y'all criticized Boring, Boring Chelsea as recently as last season when Chelsea were the 2nd highest scorers in the league. The year before United and Arsenal were on their high horse and Chelsea outscored both of them. Every person who isn't a Chelsea fan has been acting like all Jose does is park the bus for the three or so years I've been posting on here. It's amazing how that narrative has changed now

Let's not go overboard. Some of us remember the goal scoring records he had at Real Madrid.

Mourinho just plays defensive in high-pressure matches, which is EXACTLY what Sir Alex used to do with Park and Fletcher.

ETA: You can go back through my post history or whatever, but I've always been a huge fan of Jose. I haven't had to talk myself into this hire as much as other United fans.

Also, Ibrahimovic says:

quote:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic assured in Stockholm that he has made up his mind about his future, admitting interest from various Premier League teams, but without naming Manchester United in particular. "The future is written, I've made a decision. I made it a long time ago, I just have to push the button", he said today, smiling, at a press conference with the Swedish camp before Euro 2016.

he ex-PSG player who was given a big send-off after four seasons in Paris said he could give "no guarantees" that he was on his way to one club in particular, acknowledging that he has had offers from Italy, England and further afield.

The Swedish star was his usual ironic self, soundbiting his way through the press conference and praising Manchester United's Emperor elect: Jose Mourinho.

Zlatan, who will be 35 in October, disregarded negative comments in England about his age:

"Age is just a number, it's all in the head. If I want to do something, I'll do it", asserted the Swedish captain, who is fully focused on the Euros and says he is in no rush to find a club".

I think those are slightly, but not completely, overblown. The team was still engineered to hit people on the counter.

He did sacrifice utility for attacking players though, particularly with Mesut and Ronaldo. The defeat against Borussia Dortmund led at least one journalist, Jonathan Wilson iirc, to write that Real Madrid would never win a CL with Ronaldo in the team. They were unbalanced af, and Ancelotti sold Mesut for a reason.

Of course, he'll never be able to replicate that team. I don't think that 11/12 Ronaldo in La Liga ever received, or will ever get, the credit that he deserved for some of the outrageous shite he pulled that year, but I don't think that Mourinho could even match some of the ridiculous 7 defender lineups that Sir Alex put out.

Meh. It was an insipid side, and Mesut was the most electrifying with his creativity.

They had one or two slip-ups, and weren´t in attack mode in crucial matches or against solid sides.

The translator made many adjustments.

They had a lot of matches where they padded the score sheets.

Higuaín also wasted 95% of solid chances, and even had the balls to try and dribble. A lot.
