It's not like their opinions are informed or relevant
If they were, they would be much more concerned with a team that was awful, meant to be a glorified reserve team for a foreign club (though that didn't work out), and reluctant to employ Americans

And im saying the best euro players will stay in Europe. for a variety of reasons. Lets just take the franchise model out. The MLS being the single owner of contracts will need to go. The MLS will be a good league but some changes will eventually need to be made like letting the franchises/clubs run completely independent and just scraping the DP and letting teams sign and pay who ever they want how much they want.
Also moving to the traditional schedule would be another.

Great. But that's not relevant right now and won't be for a long time. Right now the league needs stability and to continue its slow, solid growth, not the world's best players.

Did people really expect the best players in the world to come to MLS less than 20 years after it was founded? Really?

Honestly its not going to happen. But MLS will be a top 10 quality league in the next 10 to 15 years esp with the growth and development of at home talent. Good academies at home and having our young talent also abroad at academies can make the best of both worlds. Or having academies known for pumping out euro quality players their club can sell and good level MLS guys as well.
