I dont have a dog in this fight.... but Gerrard was not good today and Rooney was the best player on the field for England and has been for both games in this World Cup.

Exactly but in scouser eyes Rooney was not the best player out there for England.
But busted his arse for 90 mins and was unlucky not to have 3 goals.

Crazy thing is England could still very well advance. They are -2 in GD right now but if they defeat Costa Rica they will be minimum -1 and Costa Rica will be minimum even on GD, while Uruguay if they lose to Italy will be minimum -2 on GD.
