I wonder if Shaw ate 10 pies for a prematch snack?

I remember a post I made in the Liverpool thread even before Klopp was hired about the changes for his style that would be made and how Hendo isn’t a fit for his system.

Sure he can press and tackle, but you need midfielders in that system that are good at quick distribution.

Some would always say look at his completed passes, fricker passed backwards and sideways all match.

First time I saw him play live I was shocked how bad he really was.

You tell me

Giggs said the kid is freaky strong for a soccer player, reps 225 with ease.

The thing is, his distribution is good in spurts, but then there are times where he gives it away every single time

This is almost as overplayed as the Etihad being empty

Our system is different than when Klopp was at Dortmund. Similar, but we're not quite as direct, and we hold possession a lot more. Henderson is important for that. His job is ball retention. Does he pass sideways and backwards? Yes. But he also distributes out to our fullbacks pushing up the pitch and reverses field a lot too. But again, it's not popular to think that.

Could we do better than him in our system? Absolutely. I'd love to have Jorginho there. But I still think it's funny how much Hendo gets shite on because he's constantly compared to England greats and he clearly isn't that level.

He can complete three yards passes

He’s shite, one of the England games I went too everyone booed him.

He's much better in a B2B role.. he doesn't have the range to play as a DLP and mainly plays safe passes and retains posession... He does okay there against the poor teams, but not so much when teams attack us...

His injuries have taken a toll on his foot speed..

I'd keep him as a squad player, because he can play all 3 roles.. but we need an upgrade at DM... We've needed one ever since Masch and Xabi left...

You want to know why?

It’s bc he’s captain of Liverpool Football Club

There is a standard of quality for the captain and he isn’t good enough. You guys won’t win a trophy with him as the captain.

I’ve said the same shite since he was in the northeast, he has a great work ethic and average everything else. Every once in a while he’ll hit a great long pass. Squad player, nothing more IMO.

Jorginho

He's great with the ball, but if we do get him... we will need 2 MF'ers that can do the running and dirty work for him defensively... Naby fits the bill.. losing Emre would hurt..

I think he could probably do it.. also Ox.. Hope Can stays.. it would give us options..

I guess it just boils down to balance in the MF...

Him and Naby would be excellent additions to the midfield... both could really help break down defenses that pack it in against us..
