Took two months for us to eventually pay over Brentfords initial asking price, this club dude

At least he's quality.

Hopefully the next guy we overpay for is as good as well.

Rashford to Barca on loan, 100% wage coverage from Barca with option to buy next year. We would obviously prefer a sale but saving 300k a week is huge.

0-0 against Leeds. The two most glaring weaknesses remain striker and CDM.

We aren't going to make all the necessary moves to be competitive in one window. With that I'm perfectly fine giving the 2 strikers we already have another season to develop with better playmakers around them.

I' much prefer adding players to the midfield.

I’m just worried Amorim not making Bruno a 10 is gonna get him fired. Bruno needs to be on the attack. He isn’t disciplined enough to stay in position where he has him at now.

Let’s please not spend £80 million on Jackson

Preseason is under way so I guess it’s time for a new thread

Yeah I'm out if that happens. That's fricking criminal...buy a player Chelsea doesn't want and fund their next purchase. It doesn't get much dumber than that. Focus on top 7 next year and make smart decisions so we can make critical pick ups down the line when they will have a bigger impact. The only thing that's critical right now is to stop digging.

This team has goals in the lineup already...but we need a rock we can put next to Bruno so he can do Bruno things.

We only scored 42 premier league goals last year. Top 7 all scored 65+. where do you realistically see us making up 20+ goals this season? Because it’s not going to be Hojlund

We need a proven striker and a holding midfielder in the worst way. We cannot go another season in hopes that Rasmus will just magically kick on and get us 20 goals.

Maybe Cunha and Mbeumo hit it off and each get 10+ but I just don’t see us scoring enough to keep up with the top half unless we sign a new CF.

We will have to agree to disagree. To me, it's a gross oversimplification to pin our scoring on one player. Last season was pure turmoil from the time we won the FA Cup and was clearly a wash the moment ten Hag got canned. Expecting another train wreck like that is just as bad as blind optimism in my opinion.

Get Javi Guerra and sell the dead weight.

I'm not pinning it on one player, it was a combination of poor decision making in the final third by our wingers plus Hojlunds inability to score. I just think a quality striker masks over a lot of those issues majority of the time. Good strikers always find ways to get goals.

I agree about the front line issues last year. I just think we got two proven PL 10s that will provide adequate service this year which is going to help Hojlund grow. Decision making was the worst quality in the team last season.

I think we are going to see a big step forward this year from the team in general. Not saying we will be anywhere near meaningful hardware but I think we will play good football consistently.

We need a new thread...time to bury this one.
