Just watched it. Ashley young has saved our arse twice in a row. Sucks for Hesketh that Van Persie had to dick on them like that right when he came in for his debut

Even though we've won at Arsenal and Southampton playing with a back 3, we haven't looked good doing it. Hopefully, we'll revert to a back four at home against Liverpool Sunday.

Yea time to ditch the 3 in the back until we are healthy.

He's been unreal these past few weeks. The ESPN guys gave him a very mediocre rating last week, which absolutely blew my mind. It's good to see they're finally giving him a little more credit now.

LvG needs to go for the throat sunday vs Liverpool, esp after BR shot off at the mouth about him.

Anyone else enjoying the melt going on in their thread. Knocked back off their perch.

I would like nothing more than to completely dismantle them.

I'm still nervous though b/c although we are winning we aren't exactly playing great and we all know how this fixture can go.

Let's go in dry tho.

Saints are quite a bit better than Liverpool. It's a tough match, but I'm less concerend than I was on Monday.

Liverpool are in shambles right now.

The real question is will Carrick start out at as center half? It would be easier transition, if Blind was healthy.

I think we stick with Evans Carrick Rojo as back three. As much as Paddy has done good lately last game just showed that he is still not ready to be a starter. Until Cleverly comes back (can't believe I would ever want Cleverly back in the starting line up) I think Carrick should start.

3rd place - unreal, especially considering after the first month it was the worst start in 40 years or whatever ??....

Just keep winning, the media doesn't want to admit it, but United is fighting their way into title contention.

Liverpool also has no one to protect their back four which is a disaster to start with.

If they start Lambert up top he will be gassed by 35mins. Sterling has been awful and is also gassed. Dude has logged a lot of miles.

If we can just clog up the midfield and keep the pressure constant when we don't have the ball we should be fine. That and maintain possession and don't give it away so damn easy like we did monday.

I don't think LvG really is a big fan of Evans but was pigeon holed into playing him due to Paddy's poor start and Smalling's injury.

Evans looked nervous as frick out there.

Let us not overlook how HUGE Michael Carrick has been. He's been amazing since he's been back and really has been there for us for years and put in good performance after good performance. He can play centerback and in the midfield and transitioning to centerback eventually could potentially prolong his career.

They have definitely snuck up on everyone. I think the media likes failure more than success generally speaking.

Nothing eats up certain media members and opposition fans more than United winning when we're not at our best. A lot of talk this week about how we "got away with murder" at St. Mary's. Teams win every week against the run of play. We're not gonna apologize for it, so the haters can go frick themselves.

I think at home we'll revert to a back four and focus on possession and exerting pressure at the opposite end. More akin to the tactics in the Hull and Stoke games. LVG has trended toward a back 3 and counterattacking tactics when playing stiffer opposition away. To his credit, it has worked recently against Arsenal and Southampton, but the tactics haven't produced our best performances. The formation will depend on who we have available though.

Anxious to hear the injury report at the Friday presser. We should get ADM back, and possibly Rafael as well. Falcao has had another week of training and should be ready to play more minutes also.
