He was literally the worst shot stopper in Europe his first season with us.

Single-handedly nearly cost City the Manchester Derby his first year.

Was so pissed when he came in over Joe Hart, because Hart could actually stop shots. Bravo is a terrible shot-stopper and makes terrible decisions in the field, yet very good at penalties.

Still so triggered LSU/Bama and City/Pool are the same weekend.

It may be a super shitty weekend.

That’s good news but how much practice time has he had?
I’d switch him and Fernandino if this was Fifa but In Pep We Trust.
My stomach hurts already and game hasn’t started yet.

I was hungover as frick and missed the start of the game. Rolled over and my phone said 2-0 like 15 minutes in. Rolled right on back over.

Yeah you missed nothing. We actually bossed the game for the most part in terms of possession and chances created. Liverpool just had higher quality chances and finished.

That's basically our season. We've hold the ball, hold the ball, hold the ball, pass our way out of good chances, then hit the crossbar.

GARETH has handled being England manager brilliantly - up to this point.

He has conducted himself in a admirable, eloquent & engaging way. Helping to make a Nation feel like they can have some sort of confidence & respect for the national team. However, I feel this incident could have been handled better.

Keep it behind closed doors & deal with it internally surely?! Come International Week, it’s meet up time between Sterling & Gomez... Raheem Sterling was still upset with Gomez about the result on Sunday & their little pushing/words said during the #lfc vs #mcfc game.

So he has obviously gone into the England camp heated & gone for Gomez, in doing so grabbed Gomez by the throat. Obviously as a manager I’m sure having a harmonious squad is the best scenario - handshakes and hugs on sight not confrontations. But let’s be honest now this kind of stuff isn’t uncommon in squads full of testosterone.

In the various squads I have been a part of I have seen players get punched in the face, ribs broken, nose busted, head kicked like a football.....a throat grab was the equivalent of the intricate handshake embraces that are all too familiar today!

The main question is: Why this couldn’t be handled internally?

I suppose the management have felt it would be better to nip it in the bud prior to the press, agents, family friends leaking the news. However, the worst case on this instance would have been someone asking in a press conference “what happened between Raheem & Gomez, we heard there was a fight”. Easy answer & we have a game to concentrate on. Incident done and dusted. No player looks any worse, we move on.

Now Raheem is left to defend himself from all of the haters that had had their keyboards turnt off due to him becoming a very worthy ambassador for the English game, and rightly so.

If this was a terrible incident then I would be all for public shaming & discipline. But for this ‘throat grab’ that we are TOLD it’s for I can’t understand it.

Gareth would no doubt had seen worse many times during his time as a player and manager. I just feel this could and should have been handled better to support the player & not hang him out to dry.

One of our World Class players who has conducted himself wonderfully through Racism and unwarranted criticism in an England shirt will now come under more scrutiny and be vilified in the media no doubt - when this could have been dealt with internally. Hindsight is a great thing though.

Rio Ferdinand on the Sterling and Gomez dust up.

I wholeheartedly agree with him and back Sterling 100%. Gomez has done nothing in the match Sunday until he shoved Raz solely because he knew it would get the fans going because they hate Sterling.

Sterling can’t let a squad player that’s younger than him up him either seeing as though he is seen as an England leader. Obviously he didn’t have to make Gomez look like a complete bitch to the rest of the team, but Gomez ruined really any good will there possibly could have been by trying to up his own reputation on Sunday.

That’s not a good take. I agree it should’ve been handled internally, but it is what it is. My line of thought (trying to remain as neutral as possible) is if Sterling wants to be the poster boy for equality and be a leader for the international squad, then he needs to hold himself to a higher standard than this. Everyone who plays the game knows (unless it’s an egregious/malicious tackle etc) that what happens on the field stays on the field, you shake hands after the game and go about your way. Especially on the professional level. To start, or attempt, a physical altercation with Gomez over what happened is childish and I think he’s deserving of the criticism. Sterling single handedly created a story for the tabloids when there wasn’t one, so he needs to make it right and deal with the criticism if he wants to be taken seriously as a leader for the international squad. Especially bc Gomez will play a big role in that squad in the future. If anyone ruined goodwill, it was Sterling and that’s obvious by the fact Sterling is the one dropped from the team sheet. It also wasn’t just a “throat grab”, check the recent headlines.

Gomez chatted shite first on international duty. If he is man enough to run his mouth after a 4-minute appearance then he is man enough to take whatever happens next.

Sterling has a leader role to maintain and I don’t blame him at all for reacting.

Imagine Wilshere talking shite to Lampard or Gerrard a decade ago. He would have been crucified in the press and likely would have been put on the floor.

Unfortunately this is 2019 and any reaction that is a result of testosterone is frowned upon.

Agreed Southgate has handled this very well.

The issue of club rivalries spilling over to the England camp is all to well documented and the negative impact it used to have. Rio himself has spoken about how as youngsters at West Ham him and Lampard were best friends but at england he wouldn’t speak to frank for fear of giving him an edge in the Utd vs Chelsea battle.

This has publicly spelled it out to everyone that this will not be tolerated.

Sterling is also without a doubt our best player and one for our two world class players, again this shows him and the whole squad that nobody is beyond reproach.

As for this coming out into public, do people think there would be no questions if he dropped Sterling? Like the press would just see that as a good decision and move on?

Laporte expected to miss another 2-3 months.

Unless we’re close at the end, I’d rather him just stay out until preseason for next year.

Agree, as things currently stand, there is no reason to rush him back.

Thank God Ederson is back. He's the most important player in our squad.
