Clubs can be grown organically
Not into the top tier.
Which teams have grown organically into a consistent title threat in the EPL the past 50 years? Clearly Chelsea and Man City don't count.

People like SFP say this is how you catch up and compete and level the playing field. But it doesn’t level the playing field.
How has it not?

No one in that area could compete with City’s resources. It leads to a one horse race in the long run.
Clearly it's more expensive to overcome the institutional barriers than it is to operate once you overcome them. Just look at the differences in net spend between Man U and Man City the past 5 years
All the big numbers show is how large the institutional advantages are.
Like I said, I want 10 more clubs like this in the EPL. I understand why fans of legacy clubs don't. They don't want teams to overcome those barriers

Because no one can compete with unlimited resources and being owned by a fricking nation.

Because United has been throwing shite at the wall trying to catch up while not having the unlimited funds like City. City has also been able to off load players they paid over the odds for after a season or two while United haven’t been. A lot of that is because of squad depth and quality. Something City was able to do because they cheated.

Liverpool basically had to hit the reset button and grow itself back. Remember they were hours from going bust.
Did they just throw money around like gang busters at first? Nope
Did they have a strong fan base to build off of? Yes

That was only temporary. Look at the recent spending

Stop coping. They're run terribly with a wage structure that destroys the value of the -EV transfers they acquire, creating a cycle of recycling managers who can't straighten the ship by bringing in guys, which creates mini-resets each time that dig the hole deeper.
Imagine what that mismanagement would do to a Villa or Brighton.

No. Something City was able to do because they didn't make terrible deals like Sancho, Antony, Sanchez, Onana, Casemiro, etc. I didn't even include Di Maria because you recovered enough after the one terrible season.

Liverpool was already a big club
Your example is an elite club who was shitty for a long time but still remained in the club. That's not what you want to be arguing to support the point that teams can grow organically
So is that it? I ask you to show me a squad in FIFTY years that's grown organically into a consistent title threat and your example is *checks notes * Liverpool

That’s insane, City has mad plenty of terrible purchases and could afford to just off load them because they cheated

That’s nonsense
