If he needs me to love him to stay, so be it!

Barrett reporting LFC are in for Willian.
I admit I don't really remember much about him, but seems the price is a bit high (higher than our other alleged targets). Any scouting report? I like what Toure's done for us so far but would still like to see a stud CB signed too

Read today that City is talking to Papa.
Not sure if we're even still interested in him or if the price (or his wages) were too high.
Can Willian play wide at all? Or purely AM?

Plays on the left mostly, but can play all 3 AM positions...

Well, since it appears he's our for another season...
Atleast he hasn't lost his scoring touch (against Japan today)

So lets take a look at the first 2 months of our Premier League schedule:
Aug 17 - Stoke City, Anfield
Aug 24 - Aston Villa, Villa Park
Sep 1 - Manchester United, Anfield
Sep 16 - Swansea, Liberty Stadium
Sep 21 - Southampton, Anfield
Sep 29 - Sunderland, Stadium of Light
Suarez will be out until the 9/29 match. Actually he should be available for the 9/23 League Cup match assuming we can somehow defeat Notts County.
So looking at our first 6 EPL matches, what kind of results are you expecting? What would you be happy with?

Does the Notts County game count against his suspension?
I'd hope for and be happy with...
4-1-1

My expectations and prediction (one in the same)
Aug 17 - Stoke City, Anfield - W
Aug 24 - Aston Villa, Villa Park - W
Sep 1 - Manchester United, Anfield - D
Sep 16 - Swansea, Liberty Stadium - L
Sep 21 - Southampton, Anfield - W
Sep 29 - Sunderland, Stadium of Light - W
If we can do that before Suarez returns we will be in pretty good shape. I think the uneven performance (3-0 losses to mid table teams) from last season will be less often this year. Too many guys competing for too few spots and games. Guys will know they will either have to bring it or risk not playing as much.

Yeah I believe so. I could be wrong though. Either way he will be out until 9/29.
I'm predicting, and would be happy with 3 wins. I think we go 3-1-2 or 3-2-1. 11 pts, or 10 pts.
ETA: This match on Satuday is huge, too. When was the last time we won our opener? I can't even remember. The West Brom debacle was like getting kicked in the teeth. We have to win this match against Stoke.

Starting with 6 out of 6 points is realistic.

Agreed, but it could also be 1-2 points. I think us being healthier this year, plus Toure should help with the more physical teams and physical strikers

Toure's strength in the back will be big, hopefully Lucas can find his destroyer form and provide cover on our wings.
I'm most excited to see Coutinho develop some chemistry with Stevie, Sturridge and Aspas. I think Stevie mentoring Cou and Sturridge will be absolutely priceless.

Will be interesting to see who the first 11 are too. To get a more physical midfield, I'd think we'll probably see Cou start on the left. BR seems to be playing Allen more as the third midfielder, but Henderson would give us more physicality.

I agree that Cou prob starts on the left, until we get that player BR wants... then he'll move to the middle...
I am assuming Aspas will start in the middle and we'll see Studge on at some point?? Or do you all think DS starts?
Raheem on the right or Aspas if DS starts in middle...
It will be interesting once Luis is back... so many options, especially if we sign Willian or another LW
edit: I def see the MF 3 now of Allen, Stevie and Lucas... back line and GK is obvious for now (LB down the line will be interesting if we sign GS)

Sturridge played 45 then I wonder how much he played in the Newcastle friendly. I could see him starting up top then coming off after 60 or so
