From the mock ups those MAY be the best collection so far from Warrior... Let's hope those 3rd kits get plenty of use on some European nights next season!

Here's a little 15 min doc about the Merseyside Derby history and it's affect on the city focused around our 4-0 blasting of Everton. You will enjoy it.

Well that sucked. Passing was very sloppy and we just looked entirely too comfortable not playing our game. Thought we might show the resilience of a top team and still pull one out with how bad we were playing until that gifted goal.
Every time we get a chance to pull away, it seems like we shite ourselves. Just what we needed before going into the match with Arsenal next weekend

Although we didn't play our best match... IMO, that lost 2 points is down to that boneheaded pass from Kolo.. other than that, we did what we needed to do.. albeit UGLY
edit: it would have been nice knowing whatever the outcome against Arsenal, we'd still be in 4th...

So sick of this shite. Why is it every time we need a goal we resort to Stoke ball? We have 20 minutes and instead of slow buildup play we're frantically punting it over the midfield like its injury time.

What a frustrating weekend.
First, the lack of transfers and amateur hour management.
Then, 2 of the three other teams we're competing with for fourth ('cause we clearly don't belong with the top 3) give us gifts to really pull a points lead on them, and we give it away with an ugly display at the Hawthornes.
I just throw up my arms every time Cissokho gets the ball. Its just almost comically bad. Has he sent in a good cross this entire year? And the fact that we didn't think this was a position we needed to go ahead and strengthen in January is mind boggling. We have zero depth and one of the guys starting likely would have trouble starting for any team in the BPL.

I'll be the first to say that Cissokho is pretty much worthless, but I thought he wasn't AS bad as he's been. That's still not very good, but I remember he had a decent run splitting a couple defenders and did a couple positive things going forward. Still sucks arse though.
And the frustrations, I know that feel bro.

That run was just a tease and ended with a cross straight to a defender if I recall - and not a defender that was even marking a man.
His one improvement, this game, was going at people once or twice. All of his crosses were abysmal.
For as physical and athletic as he is, he should have lucked into a couple of good moments by now.

Agreed. I'll certainly be glad to see Enrique back. At least until he inevitably pisses us off again.

The lack of transfers in the winter window puts FSG in a bad position. We miss out on 4th by a couple of points, and the fan base will be all over them.
Also, a big deal has been made about all of the tough teams coming to Anfield and how that will give us a good shot at getting points in a lot of them - maybe the reverse is true. We played a bunch of the lesser teams at home in the first half of the season, getting 3 points quite often. That may have lead us to a soft 4th place.
Now, we've got to grind out wins against those same teams on the road - harder to do. While also using the home games against the tougher teams, meaning we may get the home 3 points less often in the second half of the year.
That makes 3 points when we play at struggling teams like West Brom imperative. We seem less able to grind out 1 goal victories now than we were earlier this year. Is it that we're more tired? Less focused? More offensive (because of SAS being together).
I don't have any answers, but I think we'll be lucky if we can get the same amount of points in the second half of the schedule as we did in the first.

Well.......god dammit
Seriously though, that's an interesting way to look at it and hadn't seen that way of thinking brought up. I never thought of it like that either. It'll certainly help once we get some of these guys back from injury, and hopefully everyone will be a little more fresher with the new legs coming in. Then maybe we can get back to grinding out those one goal wins against the lesser sides.
I guess I'm just a blind optimist, but I have faith that our boys will get it done. I don't really recall how the games went, but we lost to chelsea and city by one. Didn't feel like we were ever in the arsenal game, but beat united and thrashed spurs at their places. SAS is still scoring many goals, and with some returns, maybe the back line will get a little better.
With a little luck, both our way and tot'nm and united dropping some points, I think we got this. We got a kick in the arse this past weekend, so I think they'll be ready for the gunners.

I guess my post was more pessimistic than I feel.
I just think it will be a tougher road than I initially thought.
We lost by 1 to both City and Chelsea, but I think we were well deserving of a point in each game. We should be able to tie them, at the very least, at Anfield.
I'm more worried about Everton than ManU or Tottenham right now. Everton just doesn't seem to lose, getting a point or three (like last week) when they could or maybe should have gotten none. The other two throw up duds every other week.

What is the general feeling on the upcoming event on saturday?
Haven't watched a match in forever, hopefully it will be on my expensive cable package, if not, I might crawl back asking for a streaming tip.

Without looking, it should be on NBC sports network as the 6:30 game. If you don't have it, try firstrowsports to stream. It always works for me.
Hoping/expecting a draw. Would be ecstatic with a win

FYI - due to the Olympics, its on the USA network this weekend - should be available to pretty much everyone with basic cable.

ETA - With some of their injuries, I think we score 2. The key to the game will be if Stevie G and the defense can close down on the space and short passing they've been doing so well. I think we get a point, but hope we're able to pull out 3.

Seems to be the key every week. Stevie seems to be settling into the role and behaving himself, as far as picking up runners and not bounding too far forward. If he can stay disciplined and wreck shop defensively as usual, I think we have a chance.
I'll be over the moon with a point. Even considering their injuries.

True - though I think Arsenal is more capable than maybe any team at taking advantage of any space and completing the short little one-touch passes that spring an excellent chance on goal. We can get away with some bad positioning at times against West Ham etc.
