Is this Ian's fault? Sounds like everything was a go except the owner wouldn't put pen to paper

The fact that we waited till the deadline to even try to get something done is on him. We have 31 days to do something and we just pissed it all away then put all of our eggs in one basket. Signing no one is inexcusable at this juncture. We're in 4th, only 3 points clear of 5th and are really lacking in squad depth right now.

Why were we going after a winger (wrong position), 3 days left in the window (too late), for a player owned by a Russian oil billionaire (psychopath)?
I blame Ian not for missing out on the kid, but for being complete dog shite at making effective use of the time he was given. We had a God damned month.

For the record, I wasn't backing Ayre. I think he's shite for the most part, but he ran into a particular road block here.
He never should have been in the market for winger when other areas needed to be strengthened.

Obviously a disappointment cause I thought Kono would've fit in well. Sure, winger may not have been our biggest need, but after the way everything's been happening, I think Rodgers, Ayre, our transfer committee, and the owners need to sit down and re-evaluate the way some things are being done.
I've got no problem with the scouts, they've done a very good job IMO. But there seems to be a disconnect between what Rodgers wants and the transfer committee thinks we need. And then either our valuations of players are off, or somebody has to say "we need to stop trying to low ball with every offer."
There's nothing wrong with trying get players on the cheap, because I certainly don't want us to severely overpay like we were in the past. But this is getting a little ridiculous. When teams are under no pressure to sell, they're certainly not gonna sell for well below what they think the player is worth. Sometimes you gotta put up or shut up.
Nonetheless, I stick with what I said at the beginning of the season. If we manage to get back healthy and stay that way, I still like this team to finish top 4. I still think the owners are doing some good bringing in sponsorships, catering to rest of the world markets, pushing for stadium upgrades, and trying to get us out of debt. But hopefully this team is able to perform the rest of the way and get us CL, and we learn from this past window and push to strengthen our squad even more to potentially make a run at the league.
Now let's give the Baggies a whooping this weekend and keep this momentum going before we bend the gunners over next weekend

It's gonna be great when we lose out on 4th because of the lack of depth and Luis leaves. Screw you Ayre

Yea I saw that we are playing Olympiacos in Chicago, AC Milan in Philly, and Man city in Charlotte

Charlotte? I'm gonna have to try and make that one

I have to make one, since missing out on the Boston trip a couple summers ago at the last minute. Just not sure where. Is there a schedule out or something?

Boston (Baltimore was fun too)was a blast... Will be tough to top...
With it being a WC year... We won't have our best players, but it's still a good time with the supporters from around the world

Few things also(while sitting here watching Adam put on a CLINIC against the scum
)
Tweet from Didi Hamann. Kind of puts things into perspective after this disappointing window. At least makes me feel a little better.
Mockups of next years shirts that are very close according to a source on RAWK who's been spot on with the kits the last few years. I'm not too wild about any of them tbh.

Love that yellow. I bet the piping looks better in real life than in a picture.

I'm definitely getting that third shirt if that is what it looks like. Not a fan of the faux bib on the away, but I love when we have yellow shirts.
Posted on 2/1/14 at 1:46 pm to xavierTIGER
For some strange reason I don't find the third all that bad.
Posted on 2/1/14 at 2:20 pm to BleedPurpleGold
I think the third kit would be incredible if they just took away the sash
Posted on 2/1/14 at 2:22 pm to FultonReed
Yeah I agree. But the sash doesn't break it for me for some reason.
