They don't have a bad strategy in all honesty. They've bought quality players.

I think the only strategy involved is buying before selling (which is very sound, given they knew RM was going to dole out the cash)... other than that they have had an abundance of cash and literally cherry pick players whether they are needed or not...

I am envious of their situation, though I still feel their backline can be upgraded to be top 4 material...

This.

I think, and I'm going out on a limb with this, Levy think this is the right time to make a push for the Top 4 such that they can remain their and self sustain from there on and AVB obviously thinks the way to do that would be by dominating the midfield against the established Top 4. Thanks to Madrid's stupidity they have the cash so they are going about it.

Alot of noise that Sakho to Lfc is close. Not sure if loan or permanent.

IMO, we need him plus one more CB. I'm not going into how thin we are in the MF.

I really hope we're in serious negotiations with 2 or 3 CBs. This close to the end of the window, we need to be covering all bases just in case.

I am getting the feeling that the feeling I had last year when the summer window ended will be revisited in a few days. Maybe not quite as strongly but revisited none the less.

Shouldn't other clubs be paying us for doing their scouting for them? We find a player, almost sign him and then Tottenham or Chelsea come along and buy him.

News from todays pre-match press confererence:

-Kolo Toure not as bad as first thought. Could possibly play this weekend. Will be reevaluated over the next 24-48 hours

-Joe Allen out this week. Should be fine after the international break. He also was removed from the Wales squad for next weeks internationals.

-Cissokho out four to six weeks.

The Mirror says LFC has landed Tiago Ilori from Sporting Lisbon for £8million.

Also, alot of rumors LFC are bringing in Shay Given to be the back up keeper.

Not quite sure. He's on pretty good wages too. Not cheap.

Brad Jones is a capable backup imo

What are the chances we could get Victor Moses on loan or even buy? How much would he help us?

How about we drop the 15 mil needed to get Bradley? Would probably give us a better option at DM and it gives the Boston group their American.
