Ok, I'll admit that this would be way too far fetched, but it could still cripple D1A teams that are not in the super conferences.

Other than the super conferences there wouldn't be.
How will the small schools be able to fund their teams? They rely on payouts from playing big schools to help fund their budgets. If they don't get that money, student fees will increase even more, if schools approve the hikes in fees. It would become more like the FCS.

Personally, I don't think they are a good thing for the sport. I think half of the schools not in those conferences will disband their football teams, and maybe even athletic departments as a whole.
