I'll be happy to have him even if it is just for a season. He will help the team tremendously in the time while he is here. Hopefully we can get him permanently after the season, though that seems unlikely. A solid part-time fix until we get a bit more cash wont hurt.

That is correct. Same thing Arsenal was offered. Arsenal wanted a "trigger" price instead of an "optional" price.
ETA Conflicting sources regarding the optional price are now surfacing.

If he shows that class he did at Dortmund, £14mm (+loan fee) would be good business... especially, when you consider what we've been paying for MF'ers the last couple years.

Is Sahin going to be in yall first 11? He plays as a deep lying play maker so I assume he would be up for Allen's or Lucas' spot if he is starting.

I think there will be a rotation depending on opponent... Lucas is still probably not 100%

Being able to activate a transfer that Madrid can't decline. Madrid wanted to be able to look over his season and choose whether to let him go or keep him. Not sure what it will be for Liverpool yet.
