Did this hurt Suarez's chances (maybe)? Do they give it to him in an attempt to keep him here (empty gesture)?

I wouldn't put much stock into this. At this point I doubt the captain's band would do much to sway Suarez either way. He will either commit himself to the club and the future, or he will try to start fresh in a new league with the CL.

I don't. However he would have been my #1 choice going into last weekend... The uncertainty is the reason he isn't now...

I'd give it to Agger. Leader, vocal, speaks English well, commanding presence on the field, captain for his national team, well respected on and off the pitch, loves the club, etc.

That's the reasons I'd give it to pepe, minus capt of natl team. I've heard he's a huge presence in the locker room, too. Like I like I said, no issues with Agger either... Hope they are both still here next year to choose from...

I just prefer the captains to be out and about on the pitch not stuck between the posts ... if it wasn't for that I'd probably agree with you.

That's how I feel as well.

No appeal from Suarez. I see this as a good thing.

All things considered it probably is. Especially considering the FA wasn't going to budge.

Cant disagree, but I have a sinking feeling he's gone...

Anticipating "Torres emotion" x 1000

I truly have never enjoyed watching anyone else play football, more than our Luis.. Torres and Real Ronaldo are distant seconds...

I think he stays.

But I've been wrong before.

I might legitimately cry if he leaves.

I think it just shows his passion. As people have already said, it's great when it drives him to do whatever it takes to win, but it can most definitely be a character flaw (not to get back into the incident too much).

I think he will stay. Precisely why he did not appeal. He is a fighter not a quitter our Luis. Imagine the craziness when he comes back on field at the end of this. It will be like a brand new signing in the middle of the friggin season.

Apparently this is also from that Alevaro Rios interview:

Arevalo Rios: "The papers in England are coyotes. They try to rip Luis' (Suarez) image to pieces. It disgusts our nation."
Arevalo Rios: "I speak to Luis, he feels sadness for the local people admirers, guilt for compatriots. But for those comedians, there is anger.
Arevalo Rios: "They try to run him away, they do not understand that it has only angered him to stay for longer & longer."
Arevalo Rios: "To me Luis says, "I owe debt I cannot repay". The club & people have great kindness. I tell him, honour it."

I really hope so...

By the way, if your anger has started to subside over the ban, do not... I repeat do not read the FA report on this...

I honestly believe 10 year olds could do a better job running the league...

Too late man. I read it immediately after it was released. It made me incredibly mad. But then I got so pissed at all the brouhaha, I said to myself "frick it".
Frick the Suarez ban and frick the media. Our sole purpose in life should be to live for the day we knock whiskey nose off his damned perch. All of this is a distraction. Come on you Redmen!
