I'd like to see Lucas, Allen, Sahin/Shelvey/Henderson in the midfield and then Sterling/Suarez/Gerrard up top. Rafa always said Gerrard is best suited to play on the right.

I wouldn't mind seeing Suso getting looks as a wing or the third midfielder, and Assaidi's working his way up to some opportunities considering we're thin on options out wide.

Maybe it would keep his sorry arse from always tracking so far back he's behind the last CB.

Our pool has grown a bit.

Midfield

Gerrard
Lucas
Sahin
Allen
Shelvey
Henderson
Suso

Forward

Suarez
Sterling
Borini
Downing
Assaidi
Suso

And that isn't even counting the really young guys that are on the outskirts of first team football.

Especially if Rodgers is committed to keeping Johnson on the left. In this case his partnership with Sterling would continue to flourish.

ETA: Although with Kelly gone I think we have to play Johnson at his natural position on the right, and see what we can do with Enrique/Flanagan/Downing on the left. Yeesh.

Don't you emoticon me. You know he's been killing us by stranding Suarez and crowding Allen/Sahin.

He had a great game against United and West Brom. I hope he keeps it up. He's been tracking back much less.

I've liked Johnson on the left a lot. I'm not sure what it is, but he looks a lot more comfortable to me. Probably because he likes coming in on his right foot and linking up with Sterling. Sterling could learn a lot playing on the same side as Johnson.

I personally love having inverted wingers, so I'd like having Sterling on the right and Suarez on the left. Unfortunately, we don't have the best group of crossers, especially on their weak foot.

Well in fairness, when Lucas is healthy and playing well it allows Stevie to play higher up on the pitch where he's more effective in building an attack...but to refer to my idol as "sorry arse" is a bit laughable even considering his inconsistent start to the season.

Steady.

It was obviously in jest. I'd let my girlfriend have sex with him just to say he did it. He's no sorry arse in my book.

Say "steady" to me one more time when I'm talking to you and you'll be on the first plane back.

Suso tweeted that he's traveling with the team to Norwich

Can't wait for this match. It really is the start of the season for LFC. Mandatory 3 points IMO.

Suarez had a hatty last season against Norwich. Would love to see that happen again

Reina

Johnson, Skrtel, Coates*, Robinson

Gerrard, Allen, Sahin

Assaidi*, Suarez, Sterling

Don't feel like listing all subs, but I'd say Morgan, Suso and Carragher would be my 3 to come on if necessary.

*= Assuming Agger and Borini can't go.
