Yeah I'm just going to be on record as saying if the anthems disappeared from American sporting events, not a tear would be shed and not a fan would stay away as a result.

I’m telling you more people than you think will stop going because they come out with saying “we will no longer be playing the national anthem before a game”
Maybe not as much in the MLS, but I think you will definitely see decreases in the NFl, NHL, MLB etc

If they "stop" going to games, they will only stay away for a few weeks. They will still watch on TV and will quickly forget why they stopped going to games.

This isn’t true. I don’t know why it got so conflated. I definitely remember national anthems in the Superdome for Saints games back in the 80s and 90s.
I remember it especially well bc I had just arrived in America from me native England - was quite a change to move from posh Hampstead to old Metairie
