Sorry, I just don't understand people like him. Coaches make wrong decisions, but I don't understand why people think that they would make a decision to fail on purpose.

The guy who kept calling in Jeff Larentowicz instead of Michael Bradley when he first started?
I think he doesn't care, because he just signed a four year extension through 2018, and he's waving his dick around, so the players know that "nobody is bigger than ______" (whatever ____ is, some think it's his ego - and not just me, people who get paid to write about it).
So, yes - I think he's willing to make a shitty lineup decision because he "knows better."

Meh, I get his point, but I don't really agree with how that relates to Donovan. It seems contradictory to bash Donovan in the MLS when a large portion of our team plays there. I don't think he's making his decision to make the team worse, but I don't believe he's correct in the basis for his decision. At this point, I'm just ready for the Landon talk to die down. If his decision proves wrong in the end, then he'll be rightfully bashed for it later.

How much improvement did you expect after just 3 years? He was also brought in to reconfigure our youth program, and from everything I've read it's working.

That's fantastic.
That's also not the job of the national team coach. His job is to select the best players available for the World Cup and win matches. It seems like he's punted on both in order to look ahead to 2018.

The Kobe situation is not a good parallel. Contacts and shite are not relevant in this situation.

I think some (not all, but some) of the people who think Klinsmann is 100% in the right need to work for or with more self-aggrandizing egomaniacs to understand what they're looking at, what they say and how they act.
I was fortunate enough to work for two consecutive egomaniacs in a three year stretch. It was horrible, but it was like a graduate level course in what not to do - so I learned a lot.
