Julian green included in Bayern Munich CL Squad

for tomorrow.
I know, this is a small token of pep's appreciation. But for green who seemed to have fallen off the map, this is good news.

Green, who had a disappointing loan stint at Hamburg last season, has scored eight goals in 19 appearances for Bayern's under-23 side this term.
I know, jurgen won play him cuz he don't play in europe, o wait.....

Did you not watch Green look like a kid amongst men in the 2 u23 friendlies he played against Brazil?

I sure hope this is sign that green is making a little progress at least. I still think he should give up on his Bayern Munich dream and go somewhere he could actually play. BM usually only plays juggernauts and green isn't there yet.

The hype on Green was way too big early on...right when he came back down to earth, he scored against Belgium and it all came back.
I haven't kept up with our U-23 squad as much as I wanted, but thought he was getting solid minutes.
Resting Neuer likely freed up a spot for him, though we are getting Thiago back as well I believe.

Good for ol' Julian. I think that we caused a lot of his issues by hyping him up as the next coming of Wondo like some goal-scoring footballing god. He's also got a slight frame that ends up with him on the floor way more than he should be for the type of player he seems to want to be.
I think with a bit of confidence and an attempt to build some lower body strength, he could be "that player" for us. He has the raw talent somewhere in him, which is evident based on all of the compliments he's received from top footballers around him, but he's just struggling to grow into his game. When he's in his little safe place, he plays well, but the second the pressure is on, he tries to do too much. Kid's a talented footballer and could really be an asset to us, but he's definitely going to have to learn to bang in there with the big boys in the Bundesliga and on the International stage before he's anything more than a decent prospect.

Watching some of it, it seemed like his teammates weren't exactly looking for him in the final third. Not that I blame them, but he made some runs that got largely ignored. Kid has to earn that respect I guess.
