TIA is reporting the offer is now 35 million....didn't say anything about accepting it.

EDIT: On Cue they announce it has been agreed upon.

Goddammit. 35 mill is a huge number.

Is Pool still pursuing Charlie Adam, Ashley Young and Charles N'Zogbia?

I know! If it's true I don't know how they could logically justify that number. If Carroll is worth 35, then Niklas Bendtner (CL experience, multiple years of PL starts, a World Cup goal scorer) needs to be sold for at least 50 million.

If Pool ends up with a take of Suarez, Carroll, Adam and Young in the window I think that would be a pretty decent way to splash cash despite losing Nando.

I'd take 12 million for Beowulf right now.

You're looking at TWO, count them, TWO bad years in what has been one of the most decorated clubs in the world. You gonna let two years dictate what you're doing?

Yeah, but how long is two years when you are in the prime of your career and you're one of the top players in the world? A players career is not long enough in many cases to wait around on a club.

rumor on lfconline.com is that the Torres deal is contingent on Pool signing a replacement striker today.

Torres for 50 million is ridiculous. Carroll for 35 million is even more so.

Now ESPN is saying that Liverpool and Chelsea are still negotiating and that Anelka WILL NOT be part of the deal. Also says Carroll deal has not been finalized.

Because I think you're the only person delusional enough to believe that Liverpool won't be back.

Right, because that's what I said. However, Torres has two, maybe three, years left as a potential world class striker. Liverpool's main players are aging and it's going to take time. He doesn't want to spend them fighting for a Europa spot and who could blame anyone for not wanting to play with Suarez.

Cry me a river, Chelsea have spent almost no meaningful money in like four years now.

35 mil would make him the 8th highest signing ever. Wow.

I mean I love him as a player but that's a frickin massive gamble.

you're a moron if you don't want to play up front with Torres. Have you ever seen what his partners do?

Watch Suarez play. He creates space everywhere for strike partners, to go along with good passing and an ability to finish. Basically exactly what Torres needs.
