So you are ok with red cards for diving in live action just not bans given after the game?

Wait, people think Young didn't get touched? He clearly did. I mean, Ivanovic may not have done it intentionally, but he clearly got a piece of him. Pretty clear, if harsh, red. He was through on goal.
Torres' red was terrible. Even worse, immediately after Rooney should have gotten his second yellow.

Yes. They are against the rules, and should be punished within the confines of the game just like all other fouls.

If Young got touched, and I've watched those gifs about 20 times and still haven't seen it, it was far less of a touch even than Torres got.

Ivanovic's red was the right call.

Live action he looked like he got touched and tv replay it looked like there was some contact

I'll never be in favor of giving refs any more power/chance to screw up a game. It happens FAR too often already.

This I agree with and even if he didn't I can see the ref giving it so I won't even complain about it. But combined with what happened after that it's all just so awful. All things considered it may have been a worse job than Ovrebo which I never thought I would see.

You must be blind. He clearly catches Young. Whether it was intentional or not is another (irrelevant) matter, but there was contact.

None of it has any effect on the call. Yes the Torres dive was harsh. A no call would have sufficed, but i don't think he was out of line considering the huge pressure from the FA. remember Valencia got carded for a questionable dive as well. The only problem was that Torres already had a yellow.
The offsides wasn't the center and I believe we would have scored after that anyways.
After Chelsea went down to 10, Man utd were going to get atleast a point.

Where does he catch him? Looks like he clearly misses him and Young kicks the ground with his left foot and goes down knowing exactly what he's doing. Ashley Young has had enough practice diving to be pretty good at it.

I find it funny that you say that Young wasn't touched and Torres was.
Both got touched with about the same level of contact. Both were dives.
Again, watch this stuff real-time and without slow-mo replays and try to make a call...that is what these guys are up against. That's what makes penalties and close dives so hard to call.
Recap of calls in my eyes:
The clear path to the goal foul was a dive by my definition of a dive, very harsh red.
Torres dove, second yellow justified in my eyes. I've made my case there.
No offsides call on Chicharito's goal was a bad call.

Ashley kicks him with his left foot. If anyone initiates the contact, its Young with his trail foot. Just my opinion, but Its really close and I could see others disagreements.

Clearly a makeup call when the game was over.

Still horrific he was behind EVERYONE, including the keeper.

Based on what? Chelsea was playing United off the pitch.

Sharing the points is a pretty huge difference than one team getting 3.

Yes the Torres dive was harsh. A no call would have sufficed,
No a foul, and possibly a card on Evans, would have sufficed.

For that weak crap? C'mon. Barely touched him.

I mean slow motion video evidence proves it. Ivanovic does not touch Young. Look at the gifs there is no question about it.

Like I said, live it looked like a red and this is not the call that I'm pissed about because I can see the ref missing that. It just makes the other ones that much more frustrating.

Live action/ tv replay is clearly better than GIF. I would like to see the Torres GIF too.
No one was bitching at this when the game was being played. Go look at the game thread.
Only after the Torres thing did the "The World hates my team" stuff start coming up.

I have no affiliation with either team, but that's just an ignorant statement. The red was FAR too harsh right there.

He slid right through him studs up and hit his shin and foot (while barely). However, the intent was there and he never got near the ball. I've seen reds given for intent. I'd be fine with just the foul, but a card would certainly not have been out of line.
