Well Clattenburg is suspended for this week. I don't think he should be fired for one poorly officiated match. If John Terry has a poor match, he doesn't get his contract terminated. The same logic should and does apply to most people in the worldwide workforce.
I watched the alleged racial abuse incident video last night. I can't lip read, but the claims seem far fetched given the facial expressions of both Mikel and Clattenburg. If he did say something, Jon Obi Mikel did well not to react in any negative manner.

True, I also think that he should be kept off of Chelsea and/or United games for a good couple months as well though.

I saw the video on reddit and it seems as if some Chelsea fan just posted an interaction between Mata and the ref and claimed that's where the incident occurred. If that video is the "evidence", this should be thrown out as no one can interpret that nonsense. I think that video would have been picked up by media outlets if it was the key evidence. I also don't really think the "spanish twat" comment is bad. Calling Mikel a monkey is a different story.

If it came from a player no, but an official cannot engage in that type of behavior with players. As I said yesterday the "Spanish" part is irrelevant for me but an official can not call another player a "t#@#" or anything remotely close to it.

I guess I chose my words poorly. Obviously a ref should never say anything like that during a match. I was referring more on the racist aspect of it.
