I stick by my OP, but this is exactly the game/week he needed. Hopefully he gets some PT going forward and gets back in form.

I think Chelsea definitely won’t be buying any attacking mids or wingers this summer. Maybe an outright attacker and some defenders, but the young guys have really stepped up.

The transfer ban was a massive blessing in disguise for how much it has forced them to use young talent

The central defense is a little weak for a top tier team, and they’ll need some depth beyond Abraham and Batshiayi at forward.

The answer is no, and I’m an idiot for thinking so.

I think he was in a rut, and does have crazy expectations to expect a kid to deal with, but he is back in form and killing it.

He's 21 and has been playing significant minutes in the top flight for a while now.

These next few years are his prime, no more excuses about being a "kid".

That being said, dude is delivering and its awesome to see. Love him in the Lamps system and how he is being trusted.

Everyone thought him going to Chelsea was going to be a disaster, its actually a perfect situation TBH.

Huge exposure, huge opportunity, new manager that is willing to take risk and also probably has somewhat of a free pass given the transfer ban.

I also think its beneficial that he doesn't have to play top dog the way he does with the USMNT and carry everyone on his back. Gives him good context and a big of a reality check when fighting for his place.
