I know Mexico is our biggest rivals in soccer, but isn't England a quasi-rival to the US that we should hate?

I've always enjoyed watching England have such high expectations and fall short in spectacular fashion, kind of like the Capitals in the NHL until #capsyear

For some reason I feel like England could be a fun team to watch this summer but feel kind of dirty about pulling for them.

pls advise

I've never really had that impression.

If you enjoy your team melting out of the first round of the knockouts, go for it.

Nothing wrong with routing for England - they are usually in my group of teams I'm routing for each WC cycle (except the one they were in our group)

I don't expect them to go too far unless Kane carries them with some fantastic goals.

They usually look like shite when playing in big tournaments. Not the most enjoyable team to watch.

I root for England. I recognize everyone on the team, hate most of their clubs but if the USA can’t be in it I’ve always considered Britain to be close to us so yeah I’m a fan

I generally dont because they have too many players from other clubs in England that isnt my club. So im used to hating on those players twice a season every season anyway.

Just no way could I get excited to watch Harry Kane.

I always root for England. They are only a sort of rival to us because we won the war for freedom from them.

I’ll also be rooting for Iceland of course. How can you not.

I watch a lot of PL soccer so that’s my main reason. I won’t be disappointed if they lose. I don’t care if Iran beats them in flip flops. I just like to have a horse in the race.

Wat? I’ve always pulled for England. Basically for me it’s...

England
Germany/France
Spain/Netherlands/Belgium

The teams I actively root against:
Mexico
Italy
Brazil
Any team from South America & Central America (except Argentina)
Any team from Africa

From a non soccer standpoint... some people still living in the 1700s I guess.

None of my favorite professional sports teams ever do so it won't be anything new for me

they are one of the youngest.

I think Nigeria will be the fun team this year.

Especially because they have the best kit in the Cup as well.

Hard for me to get behind a team with so many douche bag Spurs players in it.
