Is Iniesta the 3rd best player in the world?

Simple question. Yes or no.
I say yes.
This is just a small sample of his work, and not all of his passes connected, but damn. Andres is pretty good at soccer.

Its hard to put him over Messi or Ronaldo just because of their pure production. Iniesta does more of the little things that most people don't appreciate plus he scores BIG goals. I have him 3rd. I would have him 4th behind RVP but we have to wait and see if he can continue his Arsenal form and ManUre.

Begrudgingly yes. Never understood how he gets overshadowed at times by Xavi. He is so clearly the better player and has been for some time.

That's because you don't understand what Xavi does for Barcelona and Spain. You've proven your ignorance enough on this board already.
Xavi and Iniesta are two different kinds of players. Right now Iniesta is probably the better of the two, but Xavi still is the best DLP in the world.

The difference between Xavi and Pirlo is extremely small. They are clearly the top two DLP's in the world, and are of absolute importance to their teams.

Agree to disagree. I think if you take Xavi off Spain or Barca they wouldn't miss a beat. Especially if it's for Fabregas. If you took Pirlo off of Italy or Juve there would be a huge dropoff.

Yea but that's becase Spain is stacked at mid and Italy isn't.. That's terrible logic. At their best I think Xavi has the edge, but I'm biased.

(I was telling my brother last night, soccer might be the best sport as far as appreciating the little things that don't show up in stat sheets.)

This is what makes it the greatest.
As a general rule, it is also what impedes Americans from understanding (and therefore liking) the sport (Again, as a general rule, as even on this board, we've got people who like it, but don't understand it).

3rd best player or not Iniesta is probably my favorite player to watch. His touch is immaculate, he can pick out the killer pass, and he also scores important goals. Just a great footballer.
