Is David Villa the striker Tottenham needs?

We obviously need more goal scoring prowess up top to take some pressure off Bale. I am scared that we will overpay and leave us with little funds for the rest of the transfer window
What says the SB?

I'd like to see this...

Maybe for a season. He would be more of a "bridge the gap" type of acquisition.
He's on the wrong side of 30 to be a week in and week out striker in the Prem.
Still would be a good signing IMO.

I'll take Jozy Altidore for 400 please, Alex

Villa would be a great quick-fix, but he's definitely not one for the future. I'd love to see him in the EPL so that I could see him play more though.

Exactly. Ultimately, we have to get someone who can fill the role for years.

Tell me why it wouldn't work

After this year (and we won't talk about last year)... A quick fix could be a good thing for the right price that is... I agree 100% that it would be a temporary thing, but like I said for the right price it would be worth it! COYS

Excuse my ignorance, but why would Villa come to Spurs? I've read the rumors and everything, but it just doesn't seem like a good fit. Is Barca even looking to sell?

would LOVE spurs signing jozy...not for jozy's sake. he'd bomb. but for spurs, would love it.

Honestly, there is no way that Jozy could be worse than Ade. But I don't think he could be much better. Spanish-style soccer needs an awesome striker, and we don't have one.

If he has another year next year even close to the incendiary numbers he put up this year, then wouldn't it clearly be the time to make the jump to a bigger club? I just think he could succeed at Tottenham, jmo.

I would love to see him in a very similar kit to the one in this photo.

I think you guys will sign Leandro Damiao... he has been linked to Tottenham for a long time and I think he will land there soon enough.
Plus the Sun is reporting that he is one of the top targets this summer for Tottenham, so it must be true
