Agudelo, Boyd, Wondolowski, Eddie Johnson.

As much as I love Boyd and Juan as prospects, I think you have to bring Wondolowski along. His goal scoring record speaks for itself. I feel like he's just an underrated player in general.

Boyd has been on quite a tear as well. Really, you can make a reasonable argument for all four. Trimming down the roster is not going to be an easy task.

Wondo made his name scoring against Belize and a misspelled jersey.

This. Take Wondo and deliberately misspell the jersey again.

I think Ian Darke summed it up well during the last national team game. He commented on how John Terry went out of his way, after the MLS All-Star game, to compliment Wondolowski's movement and ability.

Darke retorted by telling Terry that he's a fringe player, and by no means a lock to make the final 23. Basically, Terry was shocked. I wish I could pull the exact quote. I'm sure some others on the board might recall the commentary.

Dandy, I'm sorry that your people make the KKK look like the NAACP. Please don't take it out on me.

No brainer between those two. Give me Boyd.

I've just heard that they have been playing well recently, but I haven't seen either play.

I really don't want GAM on the plane to Brazil.

Our 2nd tier options are really poor. Wondo has all the makings of a great poacher, but it seems he's just a tiny bit slow in everything. I would have loved to see him come up in a league where he could have gotten more playing time when he was younger. He wasn't a regular starter until he was 27, which hindered his development in a significant way.

Wondo.

Keep Agudelo and Boyd hungry for the next cycle.

Yep, I don't think there's any question that Wondo is the best of the bunch, right now. The question really is, when you get towards the end of your bench, do you bring along the best player available, or do you bring along a young player in hopes that he uses it as a learning experience/confidence builder.

Wondo

And this really might not be a hypothetical. These 4 might all be battling for one of those last remaining spots

Wondo.

GAM would be your other option, and he's in dreadful form right now.

Wondo has had recent success scoring clutch goals for both club and country.

I'd rather have the best player that can actually help you in that World Cup. The young kids can have their time with the team during next qualifying and Gold Cup

If we're down to any of them as a major options, we're @#$@#.

I take the guy I think can come in a poach a goal in the last 10 minutes if we really need one. Thats Wondo.

Of these people the one who provides us something that we don't already have is either:
1. Agudelo
or
2. Johnson

Boyd is a lot like Jozy, and Wondo is like a worse version of Johannsson except he's not very good at taking people on.

Agudelo is just... different. Maybe he can provide a moment of inspiration. EJ has shown that his heading is pretty much better than anyone else on our team, and he knows how to get behind a defense.

If you had asked me this question a few weeks ago I would have said EJ. Now I'm not so sure. He hasn't been playing great and has recently made an arse of himself with his dumbass comments about his teammates.

I don't know that Wondo doesn't offer the US their only true poacher who finds ways to get into good positions in the box.

I kind of like the chances of him getting a goal off just fighting for a smart position or an English style goal like off a long throw-in where the ball bangs around in the box more than any of the other subs actually breaking down a great defense.

This is true, but have you watched Johannsson's play with AZ? He is a reaaaaally good poacher.
