I hope this thread is allowed here but I am going to be in Florence around Christmas and would like to see a soccer game.

Empoli F.C. appears to be hosting AC Milan on December 22, 2021.

My question: Is there a recommended online ticket exchange for the Serie A soccer league? I see just two tickets on Stub Hub for this game. If anyone could point me in the right direction to obtain tickets for this game that would be appreciated.

Any other tips on attending a soccer game are welcome as well. This will be my first soccer game at any level.

Stub Hub

Thanks,

First of all, enjoy Florence, great city. Look to watch a match in the Lion's Fountain Pub if you can't make it to the game.

I have no direct experience, but I want to say Europeans usually buy through the club directly. I would see if that's a possibility before going through StubHub.

Empoli? You could probably just walk up to the stadium and buy a ticket

That could be true, but I also wonder what Italy’s limits would look like.
They still don’t look like they allow stadiums to be full, wouldn’t be shocked if by December they still won’t allow it

Yea, I’m looking for ticket in hand before I get there.

I’ll try and contact the club directly per someone above. I know Empoli isn’t very good but I believe AC Milan is so I’m sure the crowd will be good.

AC Milan is very good (2nd in Serie A)
Level on points with Napoli. I would imagine the Milan fans travel well.

If you do get tickets make sure to get some pics of Giroud. He’s very handsome.

LINK
Here is a link to ticketing from the Empoli website.

Be aware that there is some Covid Green Pass that's required to get into the stadium. I would maybe try contacting the club for clarification. In my experience if you email the club, in English, they will get back to you with a response, in English, that should give you some guidance. When I had trouble finding tickets for an NEC Nijmegen game in Holland I just emailed the club and they had tickets waiting for me at the gate.

Thanks. I did try the site but it’s only showing tomorrow’s game for me.

I’m just going to follow your suggestion and email them direct.

There's a poster that's been on here for years named like wm72 or something similar....pretty sure he lives/lived in Italy and would be able to help you out. Don't think he posts very often but he usually pops in when Italy national team or Roma have a big game

Hopefully he will see this thread and drop in

I saw Fiorentina play Palermo in Florence about 6 years ago. We were able to get tickets through the club officially.

I saw Chelsea play Fulham at Fulham in London and bought tickets off the street. Definitely illegal and somehow didn’t get scammed.

In Portugal, walked up to Porto and Benfica ticket offices. Super easy.

Hamburg v Bayer…we may have gotten those through stubhub type service.

In short, I have found no consistent method but I always find a way to get my arse in a seat when I’m in Europe.

Thanks. I’m calling the club today because my email has gone unanswered.

After all of this, I think we’re just going to stay an extra day in Rome and go to a Roma game. The stadium and atmosphere seems way cooler than Empoli.

Thanks for the help board.
