Once his Dad becomes a US citizen, Gideon will be 1 as well due to him being a minor at just 17 and the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 . He and his Dad were in DC in May so his father could become a citizen and due to that act he would automatically become a US citizen. Supposedly they are already approved and its going through the final stages of the process and they are just waiting to get their passports and certificates.
And he declined to play for Germany U17 in the Euros which was huge. He would be cap tied with Germany because hes not a US citizen at the moment.
