Just saw that he signed an extension through 2018 with FCB.

He'll be 31 when that contract ends.

Do you think he'll ever play somewhere besides Barça? And how long do you think he'll play?

A part of me thinks he'll be part of the crowd that retires on top. When he's no longer a world-class scorer, he'll hang them up.

This goes against everything that I've heard about him. He'll try to play until his legs fall off.

They run scores on the BottomLine pretty consistently.

which reminds me, Adrian Peterson's 80 yard run (was pretty straightforward) was not > Zlatan's 35 yard bicycle kick.

he has too much love for the sport to retire gracefully. He'll play somewhere until he's totally incapable of doing so.

?? tough to say. he doesn't appear to be much of a partier, and his number 1 love is definitely football.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a ryan giggs, and has absurd longevity.

At least we have Zlatan's permission to call him the greatest now...

Ibrahimovic: "Messi is best player in the world & who says otherwise doesn't have a clue about football."

he's the best, but it shouldn't tarnish cristiano's legacy.

he's without question an all time great. It's cool that they're both in their prime at the same time.

I think he'll play for Barcelona, atleast through his current contract... That'll put him at 31. I dont think he'll play for anyone else in Europe, but could easily see him finishing off his career in Argentina...

He's stated that he wants to play for his old club Newell's Old Boys in Argentina prior to his retirement.

You can tell from that long article in (SI or ESPN??) a few months back that he misses his home in Argentina... When he's done all he can at Barca, he'll go back there IMO

The current core of Barca's talent has enough to get him through this contract and still be a top team... especially, with the young guys and key signings to plug the holes

I agree. The guy has helped make barca the most successful club of the modern era. The club and the player have a lot of respect and loyalty for each other. He has plenty of tread left on the tires and I can see him playing a deeper lying role as he loses a step. Unless he has a horrific injury that keeps him from getting back to 100% he will probably extend his contract.

he'll be going back to Argentina when he's done at Barca.

The only possibility other than that is that he goes to an italian team after barca but before argentina. That's very slight though, he's expressed some interest in it.
