Jozy has a strained hammy and will be further examined once they get back to Sao Paulo. I don't think Besler's is as serious but there isn't as much news on his.

Not having Jozy very much hurt our attack. We missed out on his hold up play a lot today and I think it is a reason Bradley really struggled.

So can Altidore be replaced or are we just screwed if is out for the remainder of the tourney?

Well Johannsen certainly cannot fill the role of Jozy and Im not sure Wondo can either. If we dont get decent play from our midfield then neither one of those guys will be much of a factor. They both need to play off the creativity of the guys around them.

In order for Johannsson to be successful on this team he will need the people around him to play well in order for him to be a factor in the game. Unlike a guy like Mix who can make something out of nothing.

With that being said, I think Aron will turn some heads if Bradley's game today was just a one off and Johnson/Bedoya can play more of a role in the attack than they were able to today.

I doubt I will feel this way throughout the World Cup, but I actually didn't mind the officiating today. They let the players play and I love that..

The officials have been highly questionable the first few days, but today they were good.. or at least no issue.

Are the team headquarters in Sao Paulo? That's another long flight they're adding to this WC.

Yeah they're home base is in SP. All of their games are all over the map so wherever they stationed would have been a long flight to everywhere else.

Eh, the ref was decent except for not booking the a-hole who choked out Jermaine.

Not pretty by any means... and I thought we would score 3+ goals after the first minute. In the end, though, this game was pretty much a must-win to get out of the group, and we did it! Germany scoring 4 on Portugal is also nice in case it comes down to goal difference between us and Portugal.

That was BRUTAL.
He takes a lot of flak for playing lazy sometimes, but he showed his toughness tonight for sure.

Johannsen (sp?) does not have what it takes and we are screwed if Altidore can't come back or gets hurt again.

We were lucky to get the win, but let's just say that it was our turn for luck. I hope the guys relax and play smart soccer from here on out.

This. That Swede looks scared out there. Not having LD sucks

Klingsman better not sit on lead if they get one on any team moving forward.
And Bradleys an idiot.

First off Johannsson is Icelandic not Swedish.

Secondly, he most certainly does have what it takes he just got lobbed into a bad situation. He's not the same kind of player Jozy is but he's very technical and confident on the ball. He's an incredibly smart player too.

Whether or not the team likes it, they will have to adjust to life without Jozy in order to get a result from Portugal.
