I’m going to give y’all the perspective of someone who doesn’t know shite abkut soccer but follows more than the average American because all my teammates at lsu were euros

Gregg seems like a bad coach and manager

Gio seems like a huge piece of shite teammate and person

Ultimately this story makes me hate Gio more than Gregg

Sorry what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. Gregg told the story WRONG. Someone else leaked the name WRONG. Gregg won't coach... Wow two wrongs will make a right.

Tactically, he has a lot of shortcomings, although I'll give him credit for having a great starting gameplan in all three of our group games.

He's straight up arse though when it comes to adjusting to the opposing team's adjustments.

Gino seems like a huge piece of shite teammate and person

He's cocky as shite because he's been good all of his life. He's a good person though I think, just 19 years old and frustrated that his career has been derailed the last 2 years.

He'll be fine.

Reggie Cannon and Daryl Dike put it best when it comes to Gio: LINK (3:38 mark)

Gio had half the team wanting to send him home from the World Cup because he was a shite head. I’m sorry but that makes you a fricking loser. I had some asshoke teammates and never once had one at the level I would even vote them off the team, much less send them home from something like a World Cup

That's not the implication. Taylor asked why our story was ready so quickly. The response was it was because we were already working on something and the Berhalter quotes going public just pushed forward when we published and how quickly we moved because it was news.

So the Gio stuff was coming out regardless of Gregg's conference BS today. Again, it's a problem that this shite is being leaked by someone in the federation.

Yes the leaks are an issue. It’s also a huge issue one of the most talented players is so hated half the team would rather try and play for their country without him…

Guys at that level would normally give their left nut to win(look at Pulisic….)

To not even want a talented player on the team is an unreal sign that guy must be toxic

I don't think he is hated. They were pissed at him that he was potentially affecting their World Cup, but I think a lot the stuff that is being reported is all past tense.

Like I said earlier in the thread, go look at the Fox feed of Pulisic's goal against Iran, Reyna is vocally into it on the sidelines. And then at the end of the Netherlands match, you seen Reyna trying to console Pulisic.

It just sucks that all of this is coming out now and reopening the wound.

What a way to not man up and take the responsibility as a manager, but passing the burden on your players, thus potentially splitting a team.

Those not being able to see this managerial bonehead move is quite telling of their own lack of managerial experience lol.

Conjuring up some junior high locker room drama is kerosene to a flame.

I wonder if he was told coming in that he was only going to play sparingly and not start.

This still doesn’t explain how he was used. If they voted to keep him then use him how you normally would.

Thats bullshite to an extent like this. It’s pretty easy to not be such a frick stick that your team would rather go on without you

Seems like this boards hate for Gregg is giving Gio a ridiculous pass

I won’t argue with y’all abkut Gregg because I defer to y’all abkut tactical knowledge and assume he does suck

I think you'd be surprised on the amount of teams that would like a teammate to leave behind the scenes.

It's just not leaked and reported.

Then those teammates are also dicks

Gregg can be blamed for sucking at coaching. That’s fair. Gio should be blamed for being a douche

And whoever did the leak should also be blamed

Agreed on all counts, but I think the biggest problem is that it leaked. Because the other stuff happens more than what is reported.

Fans: Gregg sucks because he won’t play Gio

*comes out that Gio was giving no effort in training to the point where he had to apologize to his teammates and half of them voted to send him home*

Fans: Gregg can’t manage his team!!!

Y’all are hilarious. And I have never liked Gregg.

I agree with you that there is always some turmoil amongst teams with certain players

I don’t agree with you that it is to this level. It just sucks it seems this young group can’t get in gear. Everything seems to be in place from an age and talent perspective as well as the World Cup coming to America, but shite like this and Gregg apparently being Les miles doesn’t help

It's the national team and the World Cup. Imagine if the Argentinian coach sat a prime Messi. Nobody would care if Messi had caused it himself, they would just want Messi on the field if he could go.

Gregg may get away with it here, because Gio isn't Messi and there is enough "well, he wasn't 1000% healthy" to introduce gray area, but the principle is the same. We want the best team on the field, period.

Also, Gio's bad behavior seems to stem from him being very competitive and driven. It's not like he was out partying or something.
