What's some good 'family' things to do in KC with a 1 1/2 yr old? If I can come up with enough things to do. Perhaps I can convince my wife to make a vacation out of it

Mrs. Sheep has been to KC for work. It didn't exactly get glowing reviews.

We're eyeballing a four day weekend in SLC. I figure there's enough outdoorsy shite to keep us entertained, and I'm certain the weather will be nicer there than it is here.

I wouldn't worry about it, honestly. Most cities of any size worth a damn will have stuff to do. Go to the library (or get on Amazon) and get a copy of "1000 Places to See Before You Die in the USA and Canada."

That should give you some ideas.

It's certainly a give and take. But be sure to make friends in college so you can have a free place to stay in Seattle like I do

I did cool shite when I was poor, too..... I just didn't go as far away, for as long, or stay anywhere worth a damn.

I've done many of the "six hour drive, go to the event, six hour drive back" trips.

Back then, I had time to do what I wanted, but money limited my options. Now, it's just the other way around. SLC will be my lone US Soccer match this year, unless they put the Gold Cup final somewhere that I can get back home from without missing any work.

Exactly. Basically, I want my salary but the responsibilities I had as a 18-22 year old. I'm having trouble finding that job though

i mean i still get to do cool things, it's just on my parents dime and that gets old after awhile. i'm fairly worthless, so it's not the most fulfilling thing in the world to have stuff given to you for no reason other than you lived in their body for 9 months

I'm still at LSU as well and am open to carpooling if the Gold Cup comes close to us. I'm sure a few other poor kids on here would as well.

I'm sure BobLoblaw, BleedPurpleGold, LSUTiger and some of the other guys who have gone to Finns would be interested.

Oh, I'm sure. I mean, I'm certain SLC is not some cultural Mecca, either, but I'm sure it will be fine and entertaining for a few days.

I think we have a different view of other cities in the deep south, because outside of NOLA and Atlanta, you're talking about shitholes like Memphis or Birmingham (or Jackson, MS or Baton Rouge). That's what we immediately identify as what other "cities" are like.

I've traveled a good bit for work (and for leisure) and there have been few places that I've gone to and *haven't* said "Hell yeah. This is nice... I could definitely live here." (Cleveland, OH immediately comes to mind. )

I'l be going to the Mexico game, if and when it's in Columbus.

It's a really great atmosphere.

It might be a little more chilly this time around, the last time I went it was September 11th, this would be a month later.
