we're going to stomp them, this should be a 1-1 game except for that crazy save just now.

Has Mix been linked to any transfer talk this summer or is he staying at Rosenborg for the time being?

I think this *is* his international ceiling

this is pretty clear to me. torres didnt even look like anything special out there. he played fine i guess, but i wasnt like wow this dude is good.

the only player i watched and had that reaction too today was legitimately landon donovan. it's pretty clear he is better than the rest of the team. other guys played well and shite but landon is awesome.

I just don't think Torres is that amazingly skilled. I care a lot more about technical skill than I do size/athletic ability, so it's not like his physical abilities make things a non-starter, I just don't see any overwhelming technical ability. Nice ball to Castillo on that goal, lots of aimless crosses. He's looked good for us like twice (maybe).

I do like Mix (I don't dislike Torres, I just don't see much of a future for him on the national team).

I think our best collection of talent is at central midfield, between our experienced guys and our developing guys.

Meh. Not as a starter, but he can contribute.

I expect him to be around the team during the next cycle.

That's basically what I meant. He can make the squad, but he isn't breaking up the starting central midfield pecking order.

I mean, you're right, but I suppose I just want him to be better. I expect him to maybe be the Beckerman of the next cycle, depending on our other midfield options.

Torres likes to lie deep like Beckerdreads, but physically the two are completely different players.

I didn't mean to imply they would do the same thing, but to say that Torres would be the first name on the team sheet on the B team, like Beckerman appears to be.

Physically both players are lacking. Beckerman is slow as shite. Torres is weak as shite.

I'm glad he's playing and playing well, but it's going to be interesting to see how he fits back into the full national side. He's the class of this team, but he's going to have to figure out how to be somewhat of a role player by next summer.

I first watched this game on DVR after reading through this thread, and the only thing that was as bad as it seemed was Shea's play. Everybody else was at least decent. Not a glorious day, but nothing to be worried about.

I want to see Orozco against some decent attacking competition. I like that he gets forward and looks to score goals.

Castillo was impressive in 2nd half and in winning the penalty.

i agree but disagree. i think he is slated to be a top 4 player next summer like he should be. landon, bradley, dempsey, and jozy are our best players to me and i think that will remain the same a year from now.

basically, im just disagreeing on landon being a role player/your definition of role player. i have him firmly in our first tier and i have for 12 years. i love him unconditionally though, so there's that.

WondoW keeps at it. I'll eat my crow but I would still like to see him against some better teams before crowning him though. I think he has for sure at least completely closed the gap between he and Gomez for #2 behind Jozy.

Stubear had an off game. I have been really impressed with Mix the last three games. Plays that Michael Bradley role well out there.

Shea was drunk. Seriously what the hell was that? One of the worst halves from a player on the national team.

Castillo looks good going forward. Got completely owned on the Cuba goal though.

Lovely finish from Corona.

Landon is back. Can't wait to see him with the first team.
