I know. Wondolowski is perfectly capable of leading the line against El Salvador.

I'm not so sure, he is such a poacher that he needs someone else up top with him that does all the work and he cleans up the garbage.

What do you expect from a lone striker that Wondolowski can't do against El Salvador?

Yes, Torres on the left, EJ up top, Donovan in the hole, Corona on the right. Stu and Mix/Beckerman behind them.
Lets go, so fricking pumped to see Besler/Gonzo paired up to wreck shite. Jurgen is finally learning.

Hearing Onyewu got a knock on play in box vs Cuba

Yeah, my first concern on that play was it looked like Gooch got rolled up pretty bad. Props to him for soldiering on.

I don't know that it makes sense to bring in Gonzalez *or* Besler without bringing them as a pair.

Sucks for Goodson, though. Orozco can play LB/RB, so there's still a role for him.

Kind of upset that we didn't bring in any RB help, unless they plan on moving Orozco there now.

Beasley - Besler - Gonzo - Orozco

Not too shabby, tbh.

You don't need to have a world class striker. You just need a guy who works hard and can help keep the ball. By sticking two guys up top, we're hurting ourselves more than trying to mask a weakness.

tbh though Hendo, Landon tracks pretty far back throughout the game. I know he'll be listed as a FW on the team sheet, but he's not holding at the front line all game either.

Against Costa Rica, Landon didn't track back much at all. He and Wondo played right next to each other.

I think that had a lot to do with Costa Rica bunkering.

That's counter-intuitive. If they are bunkering, then the space is between the lines in front of the backline. Yet LD's movement made no attempt to shorten the space between midfield and attack. If they are bunkering, your goal is to stay compact offensively, and draw them upfield since their defensive shape necessitates keeping the play in front of them.
