A link to the 40 page pdf is provided in the other thread on the topic. It’s a pretty quick read. I also included the relevant quotes you’re asking about.
I finally got around to reading this. It's pretty disgusting to see what Gio's parents did and very disheartening to confirm the rumors we all heard during hte world cup about Gio's effort. His parents' meddling in his career has likely given him an entitled attitude that may hinder his role in the USMNT. I still think Gregg is not the right coach, but the appropriate reaction to being told "you will have a limited role because we think you are not fit enough coming off an injury" would be to debunk the statement by showing how fit you are...not pout and show how unfit you really are.

I think all of the above is a very fair assessment of things. I think Gregg did the best he could given the circumstances. I still wish someone besides Gio would give some context to the “limited role” thing.
Also, I saw this article on the bundesliga website and got a good laugh from it

The problem with this entire situation is that most people with an opinion about it are conflating the two major issues together into one big mess.
Gio's attitude sucked and all you have to do is examine Mom and Dad's behavior to see how he got there. What else needs to be said?
Gregg's tactical acumen and adjustments left much to be desired but I can't help but agree that he, at the very least, met expectations with his teams and has fostered a welcoming culture with regards to dual nationals.

Gregg accomplished every goal we asked of him. Not a fan of his attacking tactics and I think we should move on (assuming we find a better candidate) but I think a lot of the bias against him started because of the shitty hiring process.

Gio arriving to camp last night

Did his parents drop him off?

Danielle already called up Anthony Hudson to demand Gio go 90 in both games. Sources say Hudson responded with assurances that Gio’s role would be UNlimited.

Gio is going to have to do some work clearing the air with the team at camp, and continually work on it. I'd rather him address the elephant in the room up front and move on, then him just pretend nothing happened.

He needs to be a grown man and handle his own business...bust your arse on the pitch and tell Mom and Dad any interference at this point is unacceptable.
If he does that, this story will become a footnote in history.

We really don't deserve Tim Ream
LINK /
quote:
Tim Ream has revealed he spoke with several members of the U.S. men’s national team in the lead-up to camp to ensure their focus was on the games at hand and noted that, “what happened with Gio (Reyna) in the past is in the past, and what happened at the World Cup happened at the World Cup and we moved on from that as players.”
The 35-year-old Ream is a member of the team’s leadership council and wanted to address the fact that Reyna, along with 12 other members of the World Cup team, would be making their return to the international stage for the first time since Qatar and the controversy that has followed it.
“I think the biggest thing for us as a leadership and all the guys in camp is to see that he’s working hard, training hard, that he’s wanting to be here,” Ream said. “And up to this point it’s been nothing but positive. Having conversations with different guys, everybody knows what he can bring to the table, everybody knows how talented he is, and to see him come in here with that attitude and the work rate and the desire to be a part of the group and just get back on level terms with with everyone without having to overly address it, has been a big positive for all the guys to see.”
Ream said he also spoke with Reyna ahead of his return, but said the conversations will, “stay between him and I because I think it’s important to have that kind of line of communication and trust between players, between teammates, between groups.”
“I’ve had conversations with him, but those conversations and what he’s feeling, what he’s seeing, what his worries may be, will stay between him and I because I think that’s that’s important to allow him to move past everything that’s happened. And I think it’s important for all of us to be able to move past that and work together as a good team.”

Definitely captain this camp. Oh captain my captain

It started before he saw the pitch, being told he wouldn’t play.

Even before all of this, Gio had some of the worst body language I’ve ever seen in games. If one of his teammates didn’t pass him the ball he would immediately start pouting and complaining. Maybe this whole fiasco will make him realize he needs to grow up and become more professional.

Come on Ream, clean it up. “Between” is the preposition. It’s ‘between me and him’.

It would actually be "him and me".
Clean it up.

Because he wasn't fully fit.

Technically either way, but “between us“ would probably be better.

Weren’t you the one always whining about me responding to you?

What can I say, I can't quit you.
You're stuck with me.
You're stuck with me.
