I watched the video several times. From the perspective that the video was taken, it looks like he took a swing at the guy and it sounded like he connected. I don't see why he shouldn't have been sent off. That's not questionable at all if that's what the ref saw.

Wow. So what is the reasoning behind why he won the appeal? Am I missing something in this video? It looks like he took a swing after the other player ran into him.

They have a league cup game tomorrow against Liverpool so I guess they expedited it

ETA: Press release I saw from the FA said ref got it wrong in dismissing him and that was it. He didn't really swing at him more like grabbed him and tossed him after he got stomped on

If anything he uses the guy's momentum to push him forward a bit. The hands were kind of high but other than that I saw not a lot that seemed worthy of the reaction the ref gave.

I agree. I think the first angle in real time makes it look like a strike.

Replays show that it wasn't.
