It is great we got him. Just don't expect too much right now. He really needs to fill out and get a little tougher. Has the tools to be very special.

I really don't even post that much on reddit, but the snowball effect is insane over there. Sometimes I will post just a random thought that isn't either funny or insightful and come back to see 100 upvotes.

Yeah, we need to lower expectations for now. Kid needs some bulk and some refinement--but trying to stop the hype train is going to be impossible. Everyone remember Frank Simek, though, he too was a starlet at Arsenal. Now he's....somewhere.

I know Simek's brother. Simek had a kid and stopped playing after moving back to the US. Persistent ankle injuries derailed his career. After moving to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship he was close to a possible move to Everton at 23 but then f'd his ankle again. Sad.
When he was at Arsenal they did a sort of speed/pacer test and the only person who beat him was Henry. After the one game he actually got capped in, Patrick Vieira came up to him afterwards and patted him on the back and said he played really well.

It wasn't a hit at Simek's ability or commitment. But, things derail a career of a kid who is a phenom at 17-18. That's all I meant.
