This throttling of Premier League is crap.

I am surprised PL isn't bitching to high heaven about it.

It is annoying but why would the PL be bitching? They are swimming in cash from the NBC deal

They accept far crazier shite in England anyway (similar to how most of the broadcasting of our domestic sports leagues is fractured garbage)

They already got paid

The US market is just a blip on the radar for the international viewing rights

I mean, you have to subscribe to Sky, BT, and Amazon Prime and can't watch 3 PM games outside of a pandemic, right? I’ll ignore the PPV stunt.

If they’re not going to complain about that (and why would they $$$), they’re not going to complain about games on NBC, NBCSN, and Peacock.

Broadcasters are going to continue to pull shite like Peacock because they know they can’t get away with it without materially affecting their viewership. I’m currently hoping for beIN to fold (which I didn’t mind at the beginning-probably because I was scarred by Gol TV and ESPN’s mismanagement of the La Liga rights) so that we can see some more consolidation. With the amount that they’re pushing bareknuckle boxing and their trigon (not even fricking kidding), I’m assuming we’re getting there.

Do they broadcast championship matches on regular tv there?

Know what’s funny

Even after paying for Sky and BT it’s still cheaper than American cable or satellite

Bc base tv in the UK is cheap

My fiber internet and tv with all the sports and movie times packages was still more than half the price it would cost me in America

Just glancing at wiki, looks like Sky with not all of the games televised

That I’m not surprised by

How’s it work with cable and the TV license? That built into the package?

You pay it yearly, it’s £100 I think

But tons of people don’t

They claim to go around seeing who didn’t pay but is still watching

The money goes to BBC programming and actually is the reason there isn’t as many commercials on UK tv like here in America

Yes before the sports and movies just tv and internet was like £45

TV there is way more you can sort through the bullshite. Don’t want sports cool don’t worry about it

Here don’t want espn well to bad you are getting it and paying that extra $3 a month as a sports fee lol

Most American tv and internet is well above $100 with all the movie channels. HBO, Ma, Stars, Showtime etc alone is over $100 in add ons.

BeIN is pretty noice when there’s actual soccer on. I like their pregame shows and 90 in 30 as well as Monday Night Soccer when it airs. I’m pretty new to my obsession with the sport and BeIN is where I found Ray Hudson, The GOAT ?? commentator. Was much happier when it was part of DirecTV package.

I agree with this
In terms of all the bells and whistles the game they’re better than ESPN+ and what Fox and Turner/BR gave us
