I generally win the majority of my games on Professional. I get into weird spells where I really struggle to score, but then I go on runs where I score 7 on Arsenal.
That makes it better.

Exactly the same thing here. I'll randomly lose games on professional, but more often than not I'll win or draw. That's more fun to me, anyway. One day I may try to move up again, but not until I start winning every game by a lot.

I wasn't able to move up to world class until my fourth season. It wasn't until that point that I had the resources to really upgrade my team to where I could compete at that level and not get skull fricked by teams with players actually suited to the premier league (I started with Leicester who have an average rating of its players somewhere around 70).

Yeah, that's the thing. I should be more competitive, my team is 80+ at all positions. I'm not too proud to admit I'm just not very good at fifa.

shite i played on semi pro and finally my squad has the quality to hack it at professional
but with Pogba coming next year ill go to world class

You guys make me feel better. A lot of buddies shite on me for playing on professional: "it's basically cheating..."
Posted on 1/19/15 at 1:30 pm to TFS4E
I felt bad on semi-pro bc i would win like 6-0 every match

When I try to build teams up like Im doing now with Plymouth I play on professional. But when I start with a team like Liverpool I play on world class.

You can gain a slight edge on World Class by upping the User speed to 55 and keeping the AI at 50. There are times I go on 3-4 game scoring droughts if you have both on 50 speed. But by doing that, you're still playing a smarter and more competitive AI than you would be on Professional. It's kind of a middle ground between the two difficulty levels I think.

I've tried playing with speed. At 50/50, defenders can run stop strikers with 20 more speed an acceleration, it's infuriating.
Most I've done is lower sprint speed of AI to 48.

Yeah, I'm still trying to find a good balance. I don't want to have a huge advantage or anything.
I've been playing 52-48 for a bit recently.. Although when I play Away at Chelsea or Man City or something, I play it 50-50 to make it the challenge those games actually are. I switch it up depending on the opponent though to at least try and make it more realistic.

I've found professional too easy, and world class too frustrating. The AI would keep possession too much.
I upped the AI pass error to 65 and it's made a big difference. It's still a struggle to tie or win every match, but the AI doesn't keep the ball the whole game at least.

Heh...thanks guys. My best friend laughs when I play on World Class since he keeps it on Legendary. I'm curious if actual soccer experience indicates being able to play FIFA successfully on a higher level...

I'll preface this by saying that I've had almost every FIFA game since 2005, so I play Legendary.
But semi-pro? COME ON MAN

Got on for the first time in a while.

Coventry was that bad
I have no shame to at least get them to a respectable rating. But now the squad is night and day from the League One days.
Ive owned them since the ps2 days. I usually play on World Class when I have an able bodied team.
When I do player career mode I start with professional then go to world class once he is in the high 70's.

To the previous poster, I've played soccer since I was 5 and the only thing I can think that would help would be in the tactics department. Maybe just having an idea of where your teammates should be in the game. Even then, I'm not sure playing soccer offers that much of an advantage. Any layperson can know when to pass and when to shoot. It's usually the physical ability to do such (or lack there of) that keeps people from playing soccer.
To WSE and SCH, I've owned every fifa since Fifa 03, to me this game takes the largest combination of gaming skill of any of them. It might be that I just jumped to the next generation platform, but I've really struggled on world class this year, and that's what I've always played on.

I wasn't even counting FIFA on Super Nintendo
or the PS version where you could slide tackle the goalie

I know, I'm just arguing that owning "every fifa game since 2005" doesn't mean you play on a high level in 2015.
Also, slide tackling the goalie until you only had 7 players was the original rage quit for me.
ETA: I had it on ps2 with Landycakes on the cover
