Someone mentioned Wondo earlier.
Busquets is the most talented defensive mid in the world, so I'd say he deserves to be on a list of 23 players.
Pique and Ramos (and Casillas if anyone dares question his inclusion) deserve to be on the list for contributing to a Spanish defense that conceded one goal in 540 minutes of tournament play. Once again this is a 23 person finalist list.
The three leading vote getters will be the usual suspects; Messi, Ronaldo, and Iniesta.

Biased Arsenal fan here! I'd say Arteta deserves a shout for his play this year, but his lack of international experience is likely a death blow to his cause.
