The defending on this game really is a joke. AI defenders were smarter on fifa 12.

It so dumb how training your players doesn’t improve them
Just makes the sharp for matches
It’s all based on development plan
Also since this new update my players seem like they are stuck in mud, they don’t switch on when I want them too and run away from the ball. All my passes seem to be too heavy
Trying to get promoted out of the championship is going to be a dog fight four matches in.

Up to 7th in the championship now
My board can go frick themselves tho
One of my objectives is to sign a player from Asia, like excuse me talk about trying to pick my squad
Also the other dumb one is to have made £11 million in sales on youth players by the end of the year

It’s a broken game
The passing dynamics have gotten worse since the last patch
Try to play it to a guy 3 yards away, nope it goes to the next player behind him and the computer intercepts it
Good luck getting the computer called for fouls or shirt pulls. My striker was in the box one on one with the GK gets his shirt pulled in the middle of his shot and misses.

The scripting is the worst in years
I’ll up 2 or 3 nil and the computer will run off 5 straight goals
The defense just standing there and not marking is so frustrating
Players touches have also gotten worse since the patch. I’ll cut inside and the ball will just float off

I always thought the transfers were absurd until I saw Arsenal signed a 34 year old Jerome Boateng to “solve” there defense

OS Sliders help a bit, but keep the difficulty on world class. If WC is too easy for you turn off some of the assists under controller settings rather than increase the difficulty.
Make sure you manually control a midfielder to drop back to help when you lose possession. Under controller settings turn off auto switching and turn on next player preview.
On player instructions set your midfield to cover center not cover wing and at least one of your fullbacks to stay back
Use a second controller to set up the AI wingers so none of them are set to cut inside, this helps a lot with crossing
If you do all that it makes the game play a lot better for CM, but yes it’s absurd and even all that doesn’t make it as good as FIFA 15-17 were with just OS sliders or even default settings.

This is another area EA have gotten worse with over the years. There was always some wonkiness but now it’s just ridiculous. Modric to Liverpool. Lots of young English players headed to Italy. Silly stuff. I try to come up with a narrative of how some of these moves could happen but it’s hard.
That said, at least now teams will make sure they have enough players at a position to cover an injury. In old Fifas you’d get to season 3 and City would have only one keeper, he’d get hurt and they’d end up going down

EA only cares about FUT. As long as people keep buying packs they could give a damn about career mode or pro clubs.

I think if they hired just one person to exclusively work on CM all the time a lot of the biggie as stuff would probably get fixed.

Ive been playing a Player career mode. We have games every three days and I never get a rest, I start every game at like 75% stamina this shite is so aggravating
