This is my first time playing FIFA. I started out managing Bristol Rovers and won League One in my first season and was promoted to tGOATpionship (I think that's what y'all call it). I had been working on my youth academy and had some promising prospects and had made a few deals. After 13 games into my 2nd season I was in 3rd but lucky to be there due to my players being outmatched (there's just not enough money). I could never imagine taking that team to the EPL. Is this how manager mode works? I took a job with Brighton and have moved up to 2nd in the league and also took the Paraguay International job.

Yeah there was a bug last year where your budget didn't really increase after gaining promotion. It makes it difficult to compete in those bigger leagues.

Just outshot a guy 17-2 and drew 0-0. Butland is so fricking cheesy

I finally bought FM17 last week after avoiding it due to being told I wouldn't have a life if I did buy it. After realizing I don't care about said life, it is such an amazing/fulfilling/frustrating game. Especially if you care more about the player/sim aspect of career mode.

I bought it one year of college, and it was a huge mistake. I sat down and lost track of 6-7 hours a lot.

Hahaha yeah, I was on vacation snowboarding this last weekend and played more FM in the condo than I did spend time on the slopes

Yep. You have to build up players, sell them, and use the funds to buy a new batch of starters. That's until you have a EPL quality squad.

Think I'm going to start a Nottingham Forest career today. IIRC, board expectations are pretty tough.

Anyone know a fix to the glitch where some teams only have 5 players on the bench?

Passing is still broken, too many passes not going to the direction you press even when your man is facing a teammate.

This game is such scripted bs. My gk and cb run into each other in stoppage time and then my keeper does a diving two hand punch and punches the ball into my own net.

I bought 2K and NHL17 this year, and I've been playing those a good bit lately.

FIFA has honestly become boring this year. First time I've gotten bored with the game this early. I play Pro Clubs more than anything at this point. It's so much fun because I get on with friends with little to no expectations. You also see by far the dumbest goals in FIFA, and wonder goals happen a lot. It's just a good time.

Yeah, I've been playing a lot of 2K. FIFA just enrages me too much this year.

How is NHL? I don't know anything about hockey, but it looks fun.

Or the occasional invisible sub glitch?

I really like it a lot. I feel like when you master skill stick controls on NHL you have more control than any other sports game.

And if you're not a huge hockey guy, you can just put on NHL 94 controls (like 5 buttons to play) and turn the game style to be super fast paced and hard hitting. My friends who don't even like hockey love playing.

I'm so bad at 2K

I wish you could do multiple season on NHL in the European leagues

I'm about to get back on Mafia 3 and invest my time into BF1.

There has to be some kind of major programing frick up or something. Its like the game does what it thinks you want to do and not what you tell it. It does stuff no logically thinking soccer player would ever do.

In EA's effort to make the game more realistic, they made the game worse.

Is this bug fixed in 17?

I am in my second season I started by placing Seattle in EFL2. I finished in 2nd place to gain promotion. I picked up some good young players, but am always strapped for cash. I bought Jamieson IV from LAG and he is a beast, better than Morris who I play wide. After half a season I was already offered 7 mil for him and I think I paid 2 for him. Currently running 1 point out of first. I am concerned that I wont have the horses to compete at the next level. I have several players who have agreed to pre contracts for free transfers. I am waiting on a player to be sold to sign them up...

I know the cash for getting into the PL is fixed. I'd assume the rest of the English system would be, too.

In fact, the PL cash is too strong because CPU teams never refresh their rosters correctly like they do in real life. Play a few seasons and look at the jobs available in the Premier League. Everton and West Ham will have like $350M transfer budgets.

Anyone else have the problem on manager mode where the club says you aren't playing enough youth players but the youth academy is grayed out? I've gone from 84 overall to 74 in no time just because of that

Did you hire youth scouts?
