i think i may dabble in FUT since my normal H2H game play is broken

Anyone feel like the computer just has faster players? Speed doesn't make a lot of sense to me in this game. I got the fastest player in the game (Bolly) and he still gets run down every time he gets the ball. It pisses me off so much.

Need a couple really good, young players for GM mode.
rugiani is always hurt, and chelini and the gang are older than dirt.

I assume you need defenders. In Serie A, Nikola Maksimovic from Torino and Marios Oikonomou are younger CBs with good potential.
In other leagues, Niklas Sule of Hoffenheim and Jairo Riedewald of Ajax are some of the best CB prospects in the world.

Pace was one of the emphasis' that EA changed up this year. It dominated in past years and they made it where if you have the ball then you'll almost always get sucked up.
I like the change somewhat, but in the circumstances you're speaking of it's bull shite. A player with 90+ pace should never be caught by someone with speed in the 70's.

Will young(youth academy) players develop on their own, or do i have to train them??
Also Inaki Williams is damn good when you train him up on the right side. 17 goals in 1st season as rm.
I'm simulating every game.

They will improve but training them makes them improve faster.
So I'm the USMNT manager and it's 2022 in the summer just selected my World Cup team and no matches ever came up for me to play. I looked at the groups and the US somehow isn't even in it? Lol WTF.
The only CONCACAF team in the World Cup draw is Mexico.

Just off the top of my head...Stefan de Vrij from Lazio is a good, young CB.

I picked up Jeremiah St. Juste, from QPR, but is originally at Heerenveen, a couple of years ago and he's up to an 86 overall. He's 19 currently, but he's 25-years-old right now in my MM. He also has a 79 sprint speed and is 6'1. Solid CB.

Sule from Hoffenheim is really good. The 2 young CBs for Bayer 04 are both good buys as well. Miazga progresses pretty well too
Eta: you can always go to futhead.com and filter players based on age, potential, position etc and find exactly what you're looking for

Are you running with the ball at your feet, or are you using the right stick to flick it ahead?
Posted on 3/14/16 at 11:40 am to oauron
Ball at feet, but I've tried flicking too and haven't had much success. What do y'all use?
Posted on 3/14/16 at 12:05 pm to cwil177
I've found myself doing a lot more flicking in this year's game. Cuts down on the slower defenders mowing down my wingers. It also keeps the defender from running in a straight line. That little flinch to readjust to the line you're on can be the difference.

A mixture of flicking of varying lengths. The problem is that touch seems to be completely random from match to match. There's very little consistency.

touch is not consistent within matches
online it's sometimes retarded and 100% seems like it is a way to give your opponent the advantage
creating a bad touch that goes directly to the opposition, allowing a fast break is terrible...when it's a good CM, it's the fricking worst

FUT is going to infuriate you because it costs you contracts. I played literally 2000+ hours of FUT on FIFA14 and had players like TIF 92 or 93 rated Eden Hazard. He was nearly useless. There are tons of theories on why it happens, but it happens in other EA Sports games with UT, as well.
Posted on 3/14/16 at 2:28 pm to Dijkstra
Contracts are pretty cheap. 28 games goes for like 300-400 coins which is winnings for completing a match, win or loss

i went and looked a bit and i love the "scripting" videos. i'm 100% convinced that i lose sometimes due to this
hell, i've probably won from this as well but i don't usually take enough risks to really benefit when down

I think it's less scripting and more the computer shifting to attacking or ultra attacking and/or high pressing and the the player doesn't adjust
Not saying there's not scripting at all, but I think that's part of it

i mean scripting more like the "ball passed by an elite passer to an elite CM with great touch who loses the ball directly to an opponent" situation. the passing is also all over the place. when EA changed the passing system to rely on the power of your pass to direct where it went (13 or so), shite got wacky about once in 20 passes.
note: i don't play the computer
but most players start off attacking/pressing and end up ultra by the end of the game
the counter attack is neutered on the game due to pace/touch issues which allows teams to have their back line at midfield
